Oldest women dies

Post by Bruv »

The oldest known person in the world has died in New York aged 116.

Born on an Alabama farm in July 1899, Susannah Mushatt Jones was also the last living American born in the 19th Century.

She lived in three centuries, through two world wars and 20 US presidencies

Would you want to live so long ?

I would never, at any age, want to see my own son die.

No. Unless I was in full possessioin of my faculties and had the health and body of someone in their twenties then I might consider it.

According to the records, she's nowhere near the oldest person ever. Also, knowing how reliable Wikipedia can be at times, I double checked it with the Guinness site.

The last person to have been born in the 19th Century.

Interesting.

Half the people I knew when I was young were born in the 19th Century. Now they are all gone. Interesting perspective.

By the time I hit the exit, it's possible that half the people I know will have been born in the 21st Century.

I like this. Many things I like about you, some stuff I don't. Just wanted to remind you in case you forgot.

I know a lot of old farts who love being alive. They won't agree with you, at all. I am sure that were I sick and suffering, with no hope of doing anything useful, even at my young age, I would agree, but I plan to still be drinking beer and hiking the hillside when I am 116. The only relief I'll need is a pot to piss in.
