Downton Abbey 2015 - last ever series .....

Post by G#Gill »

Tonight on UK TV (Sunday 20 Sept.) is the first episode of the very last series of Downton Abbey, ever - starts ITV @ 9 pm. I'm afraid BBC 1 may loose out on the ratings war even though their drama 'The Go Between' is a classic period drama, I don't think there is any contest !

Downton Abbey has been such a successful and popular multi-series drama, internationally, I am sure there will be many a wet eye world-wide ! :-1

I must admit that I am a fan. I have watched all the episodes with relish.

The Wife and I watched a couple of seasons early on, and enjoyed it. But I think about the third or fourth season it got a bit strange, and was wandering about a bit too much, and I lost interest. We may have to sit down and see where it has gone.

I enjoyed this series too! My favorite character was Lady Edith. That poor young woman couldn't win for losing and it was a delight to see her luck turn around towards the end of the series.

I know they made a Downton Abbey feature film that was released earlier this year. Has anyone seen it?

I found the entire series on PBS and have started watching from the first season in my spare time.

An interesting study of society in the early 20th Century

I finally saw the feature film and enjoyed it. It was fun catching up with the characters. I think there's a 2nd feature film too but I haven't had a chance to see that one. I think it's the only tv program I've seen that followed up with a full length movie but I can think of movies that ended up with tv programs based on their premise!
