Baffling story.

Post by flopstock »

I just read this story on one of the news sites I visit and came away confused about what I read.

Is a transgender woman someone who was born to society as a man but inside is a woman or is it someone born to society as a woman but is a man inside?

My other question is more about the story as a whole. If we can find out what % of blacks are killed during this time frame and what % of blacks are transgender, they should be able to determine if transgendered are being specifically targeted or not.

Which #BlackLivesMatter? The killings no one's talking about | MSNBC
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6

Is a zebra a black animal with white stripes or a white animal with black stripes?

And is a zebra the biggest size they make?

Seriously though, I assume that a transgender woman was formerly a man and vice-versa, that is, the designation describes the person's current, or altered, physical condition.

Regarding 'inside', I assume that you are using that as a figure of speech.

A good friend of my wife, a recent widower, changed his/her gender, who knows why, God knows. She (the friend) doesn't seem to be a much different person than he was, personality-wise.

I'm 74, my wife is about to turn 73, we can remember when you couldn't pour beer on television. As Dylan sang, "Things Have Changed".

Transgender woman is a woman who used to be a man, according to my ex son-in-law who is one.

But she (he/she) says she was a transgender woman before he, ah, was actually a woman. That still has me confused.

So, they can still have the parts they were born with, but be acting the type with the other parts, and I guess it can be pretty confusing.

Anyone remember "The Crying Game"

There are societies where such confusion will likely end up in violence.

I haven't read the article, but to the "trans-gender" issue: trans-gendered would suggest post-op condition, while "trans-gender" is more ambiguous.

Unless, of course, They're All just messing with us and enjoying a good laugh at our expense. That, in fact, would make more sense.

All males start off as female. It is only at a later stage in the womb that the 'Y' chomosone kicks in & starts to go off in its own direction. Therefore, surely you can't have a woman who used to be a man, but all men used to be women.
