Are you Rude ...

Post by sugarpuff »

Have you ever started a thread .. then you never bother to comment afterwards ...

I think it is rude of you .. after so many members have

participated . .. the polite thing to do is respond ...

I am guilty of it .. The reason I do it is .. because I forget about the thread ..

Do you find it is rude ..

What is your reason for not replying to your own post ... ...

Well, I always figure that starting a thread is just like dropping a stone in the river and seeing where the ripples go. It takes on its own life, or not.

It's not about being rude.

You started a thread stating those on their computers didn't have a life. It's a contradiction of terms. It's the fact that people do have lives that they can't always get back to the forum and a thread.

If they stop posting new threads because they know they are working all week or are busy elsewhere, then there wouldn't be half the new threads here that there Is.

Threads are for everyone. They are designed to get the membership debating or general chat. Just because they are unable to return to them doesn't mean they are rude.

I don't know anyone here like that so I think you are assuming rather a lot without knowing the people here first.

I don't find it rude, sugarpuff. I generally don't start threads because I'm not sure if I'll have the time or energy to respond to everyone, especially individually.

I really value oscar as she starts many threads & always gives her time & energy to them. I also like what she wrote above.

People have various reasons for not keeping up with their own threads. For example, there may be something in particular they would like to share & bring to people's attention without further comment, or limited comment. If others find the topic interesting, they can run with it. If a comment isn't added, perhaps they enjoyed just looking.

Funny that.... a member posts a thread on members not coming back to their thread and then doesn't return to the thread.

Often the thread takes a life of it's own and once that happens it belongs to the Forum.

She had the black vote all locked up.

Not offended at all. It's just that sometimes people mention a problem in a humorous way when it is actually a real worry for them. And I wanted to double check...the members here can be incredibly supportive to one another in difficult times.

I guess I'm ruder, not had five minutes to myself for the last two weeks or more to look around FG properly!

I have found this thread amusing, Sugarpuff's 'unplanned' timing was wonderful, looked exactly like she was staying away on purpose :wah:
