I take it that it's a private home owned & lived in by Pakistanis who only want same for renters? Here, the sign would be against the law, but as long as the owner lives in the home he can choose whoever he wants for any personal reasons. The sign is offensive, & it's discriminatory housing.

As for the English meals sign, I don't see how that is racist at all. Nuts. Just crazy.

I wonder where the story comes from...........bear with me here.

Man puts up sign "Under English management" and apparently gets threats to burn the place down.

The sign is not illegal as far as I can tell, to threaten arson is illegal.

Did the man go to the police ?

Let's think deeper here, did the man get threats after opening and his attitude became known to customers?

Did he use this 'threat' for his own ends ?

I smell this tale as very fishy.

Oh yes......where did the Government get involved ? How was their hypocrisy shown in this instance ?

The race card Is played when It suits. The British In the main don't care If someone advertises Palistani families only or Islamic Halal butchers. In the main, we don't care If they want to fly the flag of Pakistan from their front garden but try doing the same and out comes the race card. What's good for ethnic minorities Is not good for the British and our governments have allowed for that to fester rather than having the balls to say ' Integrate, shut up and put up'. Equality bills have been fiddled about with to suit. It's got to the point where the British are frightened to open their mouths without PC police jumping all over you but by the same token, we must show ' tolerance'.

See you managed to totally miss the point of my post.

Islamic or Halal butchers are not racial terms, a notice advertising for Pakistani's only is racist, Mr Oily Griffith when he got the phone call about it, should have told the caller to phone the local constabulary......but smelling a photo opportunity was there asap so he could gain some advantage from it.......so as you say 'Playing the race card.....when it suits' rather than give the best advice......phone old bill if your worried.

I really don't believe you get Nationalists at all and I'm not talking about the Neo=Nazi's you hang around with on Stormfront. Most people don't care If a house Is offered to ' Pakistani' families only or anything like that. When people do get patriotic and defensive Is because of the hypocrisy. IE Muslims up In arms because a brand of crisps has not labelled trace elements of alcohol on their packets yet the government deem Halal meat can go without.

For multiculturalism to truely work there has to be tolerance on both sides. There Is not In this country. Yet when Nationalists are deemed to be Intolerant, the race card gets played.

My husband looks after an elderly lady and her landlord Is a Pakistani Muslim. It's a large town house split Into 6 self contained flats. A sign reading ‘Pakistani family only’ has appeared in the window of a house for rent in Lancashire.

The illegal notice was seen on Railway Street in the heavily Muslim area of Nelson in Lancashire.

Passers by who spotted the sign immediately reported it to Lancashire police who responded by saying they “weren’t interested.

Following even more complaints, police asked the landlord to take the sign down because “it wasn’t very nice.

In light of the police failure to investigate this crime, residents contacted their MEP, Nick Griffin, to help. Nick took time out of his busy re-election campaign to see for himself and take the issue up with local police to whom he reported a ‘hate crime’.

“This is a very serious matter, and a further example of how the authorities and the police have one rule for the English, and another rule for everyone else, Nick told reporters.

“Had this been an English landlord he would have been raked through the coals, already fast-tracked through to court and now be facing years in jail on a race crime. The double-standards in this case are a staggering, and I’m now campaigning to ensure that not only is this sign taken down, but the landlord prosecuted and Lancashire police exposed for their gross double-standards."

The last high profile case of this kind was in 1976 when Robert Relf advertised his house as being ‘For Sale - to an English family only’ – he received a prison sentence. In the 40 years since Relf was jailed, much greater sentences have been imposed for such crimes.
