I really get a kick out of watching old commercials especially when they jog my memory of a product long forgotten! They're little time capsules in a 3 minute reel.

K-tel Records - 1972

Bill Cullen - Price is Right - 1963

I never knew he hosted the original "Price is Right" show! I wasn't aware of the show until the 1970s and Bob Barker is the only host I remember.

Wow, I had forgotten all about Lobo and they had several songs I really loved.

Look at it? I couldn't look at anything else!! Ha ha! It almost looks like a toupee.

There were a couple songs on the K-Tel commercial that I had completely forgotten about!

I have a K-Tel album which gets played now and then, it must date from the early seventies.

I was looking for one of the commercials featuring doctors trying to pitch cigarettes to new mothers because it would calm them down, but didn't find it. I also seem to remember at least one beer commercial aimed at new mothers.

Prell Shampoo - 1970

I hope dinner wasn't burned!

The only Prell commercial that I remember is the one where they would drop a pearl into the bottle of shampoo to illustrate just how thick and rich the formula was as the pearl slowly slogged its way to the bottom.

Were shampoo bottles still made of glass in 1970?

There are two ladies whom I fell for.

The first is Barbara Feldon who performed as Secret Agent 99 on the TV show Get Smart Just so hot.

Anyway, here is a commercial she performed on.

Next is a lady Mary Tyler Moore I first watched on TV on the The Dick Van Dyke Show, but it was on the her Mary Tyler Moore Show I was most impressed.

Youtube locked both videos.
What happened to Kamala Harris' campaign?
She had the black vote all locked up.

Great clips, Tude! I'm more familiar with Mary Tyler Moore than Barbara Feldon, primarily from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and great reruns of "The Dick Van Dyke Show". I love hearing her wail "Oh Rob" when something was distressing her!

This only aired once but just about everybody saw it.

"Daisy" aired only once, during a September 7, 1964, telecast of David and Bathsheba on The NBC Monday Movie. Johnson's campaign was widely criticized for using the prospect of nuclear war, as well as for the implication that Goldwater would start one, to frighten voters. The ad was immediately pulled, but the point was made, appearing on the nightly news and on conversation programs in its entirety

Wow ... that was stark! I wonder if the initial strategy was to air it once and then pull it for further dramatic effect or if the Johnson campaign was genuinely surprised that it didn't sit well with viewers and/or the Goldwater campaigners?

I doubt that the Johnson campaign was surprised be Goldwater supporters' reaction to it.

It did cause quite a stir, though, and running it very often would have dulled the effect.

Seriously. I don't see that at all. What better tactic to derail your opponent than to make the conversation about an underhanded ad?

Repeat a lie (claim) often enough it becomes a truth.

I grew up and if up late watching TV I would see what much of Southern California would see, Cal Worthington and his dog Spot.

I dunno what it is about used car salesmen, but nutty seems to sell.

lol ... zany is their gimmick ... used car salesmen and mattress discounters!

We had a local character called "The Bowman Body" that hosted late night movies (Cobweb Theater). He was extremely cheesy but immensely popular:
