I am sooooo pissed off I have to say something!

I don't expect many of you to need this service but one never knows and in case you do I don't want you to be a victim as I.

My niece was recently incarcerated and I found that accepting calls from the Correction Facility was not simple. You have to have a provider. JailCallServices kept telling me they could provide me with such a service.

THEY LIE!

They claim to provide you with a "Local Number" to keep the cost down and after 6 days and a lot of stress and frustration I could not get in touch with them and never received this so called "Local number." However they did debit my credit card for $50.00!

Not to mention I could not get in touch with my niece!!!!:mad:

I requested a refund and was told no.....and their website states 100% satisfaction or a full refund. OUT AND OUT LIES!

Here are a couple of comments off of BBB of Texas.

Complaint: This company says they provide a service for low cost phone calls for inmates. However, they give a fictious phone number that cannot be used and charge the amount due. There is also false advertising as it states "100% money back guarantee" which is not the case. Consumers should not use these services and this company should be shut down or it will continue to fraudulently take consumer payment for a service that does not work. The customer service department refuses to refund the funds when they are told over and over again that the services are not rendered. Companies like these that prey on consumers should be shut down.

Complaint Category: Sales presentation used dishonest sales practices

Complaint: This service fraudulently extorted funds from me by pretending my incarcerated family member was attempting to contact me.

I received a call from this service on 11/20, which was the same day my family member was being transported to a new facility. I had just purchased $100 worth of jail phone calls from another provider. However, I feared my incarcerated family member was trying to reach me, and I paid $93.00. The next day, my family member contacted me and told me he was unable to call home the previous day. This company preys on the families of the incarcerated, by calling the families on days the inmates are in transit. The families are afraid the incarcerated are trying to reach then, and are extorted.

Complaint Resolution: Company failed to respond to BBB to resolve or address the complaint issues.

It is bad enuf it is the Holidays and my only niece is in jail......but to be scammed by an unscrupulous company who preys on those in need.

I don't want anyone else to have to go thru this.

What a scam

I believe the one incarcerated has to call out collect and that it very expensive for the receiving end.

I hope you get a refund

Will your credit card refund you with a protection plan on your card?

You can probably deny this charge with your card company and they will deny payment to the site.

Sigh...is it the night before Xmas Eve and I have a new plan in place to talk with my niece.

Moving on to greener pastures.

Hi Patsy,

Yes you are right the one inside has to place the call and currently the rate is $15.00 for a 15 minute call. Can get rather expensive very quickly.

I contacted my credit card company but the JCS acted so quickly that they had the funds already.

Lesson learned. :-5

I wonder how they know when a prisoner is in transit and unavailable... is that information readily available or could it be an inside job? Sounds like the prison system might be housing a scammer.
