Offensive or fair enough ?
Council accused of insulting tenants in 17,000 homes by sending out 'humbug' card | Mail Online
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. R.L. Binyon
Offensive or fair enough ?
Offensive AND fair enough ?
A targetted mailshot might have been more affective and cost efficient though.

I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth
Offensive or fair enough ?
The irresponsible ones won't give a toss no matter what is said to them those who are struggling through no fault of their own it will just add to the sense of despair. I think they should target the ones who can pay but don't evicting them if necessary so they can give the homes to all those who can't pay their mortgage and are about to become homeless, you get three months with a mortgage then they can start proceedings against you. It's london anyone unemployed down there really isn't trying.

I think you're wrong about London. Rail and tube fares are horrendous as well as Congestion charges If you're driving. Even London still pays the minimum weekly wage and rail fares just to another borough can take up a huge amount of your wages.... It's a big place you know !!!!
But there are people that deserve to be reminded... my revolting neighbour Is on Facebook bragging about all the booze she's bought while she still owes the housing authority £3,000 In rent arrears... they won't evict as she has babies.

I don't know how much you think the minimum wage is but you can't own a car if that is all you are earning. Relatively speaking public transport in london is the cheapest in the country plus they actually have links. - I live ten miles from an area on the outskirts of edinburgh with a big industrial estate, the bus takes over an but there are none early in the morning a car or a bike is an essential not a luxury if you live anywhere in central scotland if you live in a city it is usually OK elsewhere public transport is either non existent or takes ages to actually get anywhere.
Eventually there will be no ordinary people living in london, people will bus in to work in the shops and take away places and then back out to ghettos on the outskirts.
As to your neighbour although people like her are in the minority it's people like her that get all the publicity, stop reading just the daily mail. I don't know what to do about the likes of her. The old time socialists who brought in the welfare state would have been amongst the most condemnatory of scroungers like her.

Are you mad ? People on benefits and flat pensions run cars you know !!!
I beg to differ about working In London. You're also overlooking the higher cost of living and accomodation.
London needs higher minimum wage, says report - FT.com
As for my vile neighbour....Yes she Is a minority but living proof that the system Is grossly abused.

I'm sorry but giving Londoners higher wages just because they live in london is just feeding in to the higher cost of living down there. It's as daft as gordon brown allowing 125% mortgages to let people get on the housing market because house prices are higher in the south east. If you live in the country or in an area with poor public transport a car is an essential, in london it's a luxury you can do without. There are also plenty of people taking the decision to do without a car out of necessity because they can't afford tom run them any more, people now on minimum wage or flat pensiion probably owned cars before they found themselves in that position average rents are £500-600 a month the minimum wage is £6.31 an hour or £252 gross a week assuming 40 hour week. Do the arithmetic.
