6 year old sex offender?

A six year old boy was suspended for kissing a girl on her hand and has been suspended for sexual harassment.

First-grader suspended for 'sexual harassment'

Later in the story the mother admits that her son is not exactly an easy kid to have in class and has been suspended in the past for kissing the same girl and rough housing.

At first look labeling a 6 year old as a sex offender seems far over the top. Then the mom admits to his behavior problems and it seems like the school has no choice. Sometimes the parents have to take responsibility for the actions of their kids.

Don't you think after the first couple of times being suspended the parents need to teach the kid not to kiss the little girl? At some point he needs to learn the lesson doesn't he?

I obviously don't agree that he is a sex offender but he does need to learn to go by the rules eventually doesn't he?

He's six . Six year olds forget. ......he's effing six for gods sake!!!! H'es using normal human affection for a six year old . He's not wrong, society is.

Well, yeah, if a kid is disrupting class, he might need some attention, but "sexual Harassment"? Really? Firstly, the "victim" of sexual harassment is supposed to feel harassed, or threatened, are they not? The little girl did not seem to feel threatened in the least.

I agree, its not sexual harassment. Maybe they are going over the top to impress upon the mother the seriousness of the situation.

Rereading this thread makes it look like I am defending the school. I'm not, I posted it to show the ridiculousness of calling it sexual harassment. When the mother admits that her kid is not easy to have in class and has been suspended for this and rough housing in the past it tells me that there may be other factors involved.

I wan tto know what constitutes rough housing . And impressing upon a mother by threatening to make her young child a registered sex offender is even more disgusting!!! Beyond comprehension.

Who knows, it could be anything from kicking someone in the nuts to wrestling on the playground. They have a no tolerance policy in the school my wife and son work at. In their school they have an awesome Principle that takes it case to case instead of just suspending on the spot for minor offenses. I know in other schools even the hint of physical contact is an automatic suspension. I think its laziness on the part of the administration more than anything else.

Yeah, the undercurrents of this story are that, apparently, the school feels that the kid is a bit disruptive, and that mom has been unresponsive. So, perhaps they are trying to get her attention. I think they have it now.

What's "sex" have to do with it? He's six years old.

When I was 11, I was chased around the playground during recess at school by two boys my age. We all were laughing. They both got me at the fence and give me a quick peck on the cheek then left me alone. Before this, one of them had sent my a short note saying that he liked me. We all were embarrassed when we got back to class, especially the boys. They were teased for kissing a girl. Just kid stuff.

They have dropped the "sexual harassment" claim and allowed him back at school.

The Mother of the girl said:

The 6 yr. old kissed the little girl on the hand. I mentioned this on Bruv's thread earlier.

The girl's Mother was happy the little boy was punished.

They lowered the "charges" to inappropriate conduct.

This is kid stuff - don't you remember a sweet little kiss and every one giggles and you blush.

Times are changing.

That's why I mentioned kiss chasey earlier, the boys would chase you and if they caught you the penalty was that they kissed you.

I remember when spin the bottle was whole lot more innocent too.....You're right it's kids stuff.

Children replicate just as animals do, trains them to make sense of the world around them. Childhood games trains children how to be humans.
