A collection of 1,500 artworks confiscated by the Nazis in the 1930s and 1940s has been found in the German city of Munich, media reports say.
Found in a flat ?
Must have been a big flat or the paintings stacked and not hung.
But who owns them now ?
1,500 artworks, turn up.

Each country would have some kind of documentation on who owns them . Museums, art gallerys, Private collections etc. would have lists.

Perhaps, if they had not been confiscated from people on their way to the camps in the 30's and 40's

The confiscation of important articles was done well and trully before the camps I'm afraid. but you always have to consider how many art works were taken by American officers after the invasion of Germany. Quite a few got over the lines under disrespectful circumstances.
Maybe making a seperate art gallery to house them could be the go
