I abhor the use of any weapon used to murder children. However, I do not believe retaliation by the US with missiles is the appropriate response. I do not know what an appropriate response would be. Any thoughts?

When the British Parliament voted against invading Syria, David Cameron decided we'd have to fall back on deplomacy - am I the only one to see this as arse about face?
Regardless of whether or not Assad used chemical weapons, neither the UK nor the US have the right to go to war - the UN has if it comes to the comclusion that Assad has committed war crimes that warrent a war of prevention but no one country or group of countries has that right.
Let us take a step back and stop seeing military action as a solution and start viewing it as a last resort.
Please!

War is their purpose. Chemical weapon is just an excuse.
The Syrian War What You're Not Being Told
UN Investigation have shown that the rockets used to deliver
the chemicals were homemade rockets, not military or
industrial produced. The chemical was also not industrial
produced, it didn't have stabilizers.
Why would the Syrian government give the US a reason to
strike by attacking their own country with chemical weapons?

US 'backed plan to launch chemical weapon attack on Syria, blame it on Assad govt': Report
By ANI | ANI – Wed 30 Jan, 2013.
London, Jan 30 (ANI): The Obama administration gave green signal to a chemical weapons attack plan in Syria that could be blamed on President Bashar al Assad's regime and in turn, spur international military action in the devastated country, leaked documents have shown.
A new report, that contains an email exchange between two senior officials at British-based contractor Britam Defence, showed a scheme 'approved by Washington'.
As per the scheme 'Qatar would fund rebel forces in Syria to use chemical weapons,' the Daily Mail reports.
Barack Obama made it clear to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad last month that the U.S. would not tolerate Syria using chemical weapons against its own people.
According to Infowars.com, the December 25 email was sent from Britam's Business Development Director David Goulding to company founder Philip Doughty.
The emails were released by a Malaysian hacker who also obtained senior executives resumes and copies of passports via an unprotected company server, according to Cyber War News.

Think with your brain.
Former Bush and Clinton Administration Insider – Nobody is Asking the Basic Question
“The Russians and the Chinese have people on the ground. They didn’t pull their diplomats out. They didn’t pull their people out of Syria. They went to the last chemical weapons attack site in March. They did forensics on the ground themselves. They found two striking things that have not been covered in the press here at all. One was that the rockets used to deliver those chemicals were homemade rockets, not military, not industrial produced. The other thing they found was the sarin there was not military produced. They didn’t use stabilizers. Maybe this is totally different. Maybe this time Assad said, ‘I’m winning on the battlefield, so I’m going to send chemical weapons in for the fun of it’. Maybe the Russians have a point. Here Obama is going to go to Russia, and we think he’s not going to hear an earful? The rest of the world does not believe what we’re saying for good reason. We made it up last time, said Mann Leverett.
