I don't know of Lindy Boggs, but I had the great honor of meeting her daughter Cookie Roberts

Let me say, Lindy would be proud of Cookie.
What happened to Kamala Harris' campaign?
She had the black vote all locked up.

I'm sure she was! Cokie is as respected in her field as Mrs. Boggs was in hers. How did you come to meet her, Tude?

Well, wasn't like we were introduced. Ms Roberts was a guest speaker at a Pasadena City College event sponsored by KPCC Radio host Larry Mantle.

Questions from the audience were accepted and I had one I was burning up inside to ask her. When it came time I just couldn't ask. Not even sure if it would have been accepted anyway, at least to be broadcast on the air.

She did spend time to greet people who attended so like any self respecting coward, that is when I ambushed her.

Being a big fan the show This Week with David Brinkley I noticed more than once Cokie irritated with Sam Donaldson as he would interrupted her during the "round table" portion of the show.

I asked her if she every wanted to smack Donaldson to which with the grace of a Southern Lady she smiled and told me how he really is a good guy.

Funny story! I can believe that about Sam Donaldson. Now that you mentioned him, I can't get his eyebrows out of my head!
