Disgusting !!!
THE Deputy Lord Mayor of Oxford has criticised anti-fascist campaigners for an “unruly protest against a far right group at the city’s war memorial.
Liberal Democrat Tony Brett said the Unite Against Fascism demo in St Giles showed “hate to a planned event by the English Defence League (EDL).
The EDL planned a wreath laying at 1pm on Saturday for “fallen hero Drummer Lee Rigby, killed in a terror attack in Woolwich on May 22.
The Oxford Mail attended the memorial from 12.45pm to 1.15pm and no wreaths were laid. There was no apparent EDL presence except for about 30 protesters.
Oxford City Council member Mr Brett said the protesters “jeered at people. He said: “The floral tributes were squashed and badly damaged and indeed one young woman tried to walk away with half of the flowers.
There was “no sign of EDL banners, clothing or “behaviour he said, adding: “What I saw was a loud and unruly bunch who were showing hate towards what seemed to me to be a peaceful and lawful act of remembrance.

To a certain extent, you are right, Accountable. ( Holy crap! Did I just agree with Accountable on foreign policy?!) America should have learned by now that, even when we attempt to help other countries, misguided or not, we can't expect them to thank us for it. (See: "The Lucifer Principle" by Howard Bloom)
But on the other hand, isolationism has never really worked for us either, has it? ( See: Pearl Harbor)
So what is left?

In fact, historians argue on the definition of the titles of Celtic and Anglo Saxon now because of new genetic research and findings. New genetic anylisis research suggests now that Anglo Saxons and Celts were both very small Immigrant minorities and neither had much effect on the gene pool of the English.
So ner
Anglo Saxons and Celts were both very small Immigrant minorities and neither had much effect on the gene pool of the English.
em you do know that the angles are the ones that the term english is derived from don't you and why anglo saxon if they had so little effect on the gene pool? Alfred the great might be a bit upset to be told the saxons were a small immigrant minority that had little lasting effect being the first king of the anglo-saxons uniting them to fight against the invading danes. Next you will be saying the normans were an immigrant minority that had little effect on the gene pool or the way our nation was shaped. It gets confusing once you realise they were descended from vikings that were invited to settle in Normandy by the king of france.
Celts were the indigenous peoples of these islands the british were a collection of warring celtic tribes that got conquered by the romans. The romans are the ones that really mixed things up displacing whole populations in to slavery or in some cases just wiping them out.
I don't know what you are reading but I'm not impressed. Just stating something over and over again does not make a good case especially when what you are copming out with is arrant nonsense that does't stand up top more than a few seconds consideration.
As you travel round the country you can see distinct body types. hair colour, eye colour that are obviously the remnants of what were once distinct tribal groups. It's no accident there are so many blondes in essex or that the main eye colour in scotland and parts of northern england is blue and dark hair with blue eyes is quite common. There is no such thing as an indigenous british left. The only ones who can make any kind of claim to that are the welsh and the irony of the english defence league claiming to represent them probably passes you by.
Many Europeans have mongol genetic markers in them there's also traces of Neanderthal anyone who claims to be "pure" in racial terms is an idiot and very ignorant of their own history.

I guess we can discuss your odd link of Pearl Harbor to isolationism later.
There is a huge variety of choices on the continuum between occupation and isolation. Most other countries don't replace foreign regimes they don't like or establish permanent military installations on foreign soil, but they're not considered isolationist. Yet many if not most Americans (and foreigners, judging by FG) seem to think we have to make that false choice: either full-on occupationist de facto empire or complete isolation.

HATE clerics like Anjem Choudary may soon lose benefits.
Any claimant whose behaviour is ruled to be deeply offensive or harmful to society would be stripped of their handouts under a new law planned by ministers.
Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith's move is aimed at extremists like Choudary — and hate preacher Abu Qatada, who is fighting deportation.
IDS met Home Secretary Theresa May yesterday to plot a joint approach.
Choudary scoops up nearly £26,000 in state giveaways a year — leading to accusations British taxpayers are being forced to fund terrorism.
A source said: "Iain and Theresa have been bothered about the likes of Choudary spewing his bile while taking whatever he wants from the state for some while. But the terrible events in Woolwich have given them fresh impetus to sort out this mess."
Choudary said murdered soldier Lee Rigby will "burn in hell" and suspect Michael Adebolajo was a "nice man".
The ex-lawyer, 46, yesterday goaded the police as he boasted of preaching hate without law-breaking.
He taunted top Scotland Yard cop Cressida Dick after she said he uses his legal training to avoid over-stepping the mark.
He wrote on Twitter: "Perhaps she'd be happier if no one knew the law?" But one of his followers was last night charged with inciting terrorism in an online lecture and text.
Shah Jalal Hussein, 30, who was arrested in a raid on his East London home earlier, was in a now banned organisation which Choudary helped lead and shared a platform with him at an extremist rally.
Hussein posted comments online about Drummer Rigby's killing but his arrest was not connected to that.
Also on the platform was Ibrahim Hassan, 31 — charged last week with inciting terrorism.

Racial history of British Isles thrown into total confusion
An awful lot of supposition and very little fact to get your teeth into. Also, given that it's based on a work published in 1920, hardly new research.
If, as the article supposes, there were very few outside settlers then how do you explain the predominance of Viking place names as far down as the Watling Street divide of England and the Danelaw - they came as settlers and occupied half the country so now way could they be a small portion of the population. The same case can be made for the Angles, Saxons, Jutes, etc.
Another objection would be the historical records. Read the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle or the Venerable Bede and they document the scale of the migration.
