When Time Has Come Today was a new tune, it was one of the coolest ones out there. I recall dozing and waking up to the song a few times.

I don't believe I've ever heard the The Who song before, though I might be wrong about that.

I like them both....a lot. A very difficult choice.

Let it be... I'm so old I can remember the day it came out on the radio. I was in Summer Recreation and I was in a VW beetle, crammed in with three other 10-year-olds and one drop-dead gorgeous blond 20-year-old counselor on the way to go swimming at the reservoir. It was so catchy we were all singing it at the top of our lungs by the end.

Given that we are up to ten voters, I don't think we can take 5 as a winning number. I think we need to see 6 votes on a song, now to declare a winner.

And that's not counting our resident tie-breaker.

Okay. The only problem is that the 10 is not really consistent and we may end up waiting a long time unless we also put a time limit on each vote count. Any ideas?

I know I am a bit slow at times but anyway.........

Didn't know either The Who or the Chambers Bros numbers......so

Would have voted for Van Halen.....

Now for the current vote......Let it be is a classic, but You and I by Stevie Wonder is my choice this time

I can only think of maybe putting a 24 hour timer on a selection. If we get a majority before that, move on.

Looks like we would have got that majority later, anyway, so,...

Looks like we would have got that majority later, anyway, so,...We have two more face-offs to end the first round. I'm afraid too many 24-hour long sessions will cause people to lose interest. Weekends are tough because there appears to be a couple that actually have real lives to attend to on the weekends. We'll see how it goes.

After this game is complete, I'm fine with someone other than me moderating a new game. Perhaps we'll get more participation that way.

You're doing fine as moderator.

And the 24 hour thing may help with "real lives" issue.

I know I can actually go a whole day (or even two) without being here, some times.

I know the pain. I still haven't recovered emotionally over the Jimmy Buffet snub but I'm slowing coming to terms with it. It's been like the 5 stages of grief ... denial, anger, bargaining, depression & finally acceptance. And before someone takes me too seriously, I'm only teasing!

I like Van Halen ... they have fun!

8 o 1 For Let It Be. Somebody give Bruv a crisis prevention phone number. Only one out of I think four or five Stevie Wonder song survived round one.

Next: Two very special songs to me. Turn it up!

Yes, I did, and I really like Wild Nights. In any other matchup, it would be my pick. But Keep on Smilin' is one of those songs that just "spoke to me" at just the right moment of my personal history and has been intertwined with those memories ever since. So, I have to vote for Keep on Smilin'.
