Brighton Council adopts new 'MX' title for its transgender population | Mail Online

I have always been very proud of my birth and home town of Brighton.

Now dubbed The Gay Capital of Europe, It's often the first City to Introduce new trends as with the above.

Also very recently, Brighton proposed safe rooms for drug users to go and Inject In safety.

It has one of the lowest crime rates In the country and for me, I love the whole cosmopolitan atmosphere coupled with the old fashioned sea side holiday destination.

Can't wait for my next visit home.

They even have a gay section in their city website.

Can't say I've seen that before.

Yes.

Gay Brighton

Welcome to gay.brighton.co.uk Virtual Brighton & Hove's guide to the UK's gay capital

The City of Brighton & Hove acts as a magnet for lesbians and gay men from all over the world attracted to its bohemian atmosphere, open minded attitudes and raffish air. Brighton has now long been known as Britain's number one gay resort.

Kemptown is known as the 'gay village' and has a thriving and diverse scene ranging from leather workshops, pink parlours, and techno clubs, to specialist boutiques, hotels, estate agents and kickboxing classes.

There's something for everyone. Why not bring your loved one and have a commitment ceremony on the naturist beach!?

Yes, we have a nudist beach also.

The only seat held In Westminster by a member of The Green Party Is Brighton.

Brighton has a very simple approach to the Gay Tag which Is that they fully embrace It and all cultures.

Forgot to mention..... Since the Marina was built some years ago, It has attracted more and more celebs and the wealthy. A house on Brighton sea front can set you back 7 million.... You can be wandering around The Lanes and bump Into a whole host of Luvvies.

Haven't been to Brighton for years. Does it still have the line of sewage out at the end of the pier os has that been rectified?

Images of a proper beach.

I see the mods still meet there, what about the rockers? As I have told you before my little thistle, the sewerage outlet Is further up the coast at Portslade/Shoreham.

Years ago when i was a kid, the Mods and The Rockers met for an annual bout of violence on the Promenade. That doesn't happen any more since around the time the IRA bombed It trying to kill Thatcher.

There Is actually very little violent crime In Brighton. I read somewhere that last years violent crimes figure was just 7 all year.

Have to say that I was quite surprised when the Green Party took the seat In the last election. Was always a Tory Stronghold.

The pink revolution may have dented the core tory vote. Would be interesting to look at the educational levels of people in brighton. Those with a broad education tend to be fairly liberal in their views, less religious and more likely to be concerned about the environment. How's that for a sweeping generalisation.
