Are you cheating?

Post by valerie »

I know it's been an awful week, but thought I'd give

something to bring a smile:

It's not the dog who is cheating. Maybe somebody could get out of the chair and walk the dog.

^Maybe somebody is in a wheelchair and can't.

Maybe somebody doesn't want to expose their dog

to icy, salted roads.

Fair enough, just an observation.

They might be working out with the dog. Where do you get the assumption that the owner is neglecting the dog, HW?

Understood.

I know with my recently adopted two year old gsd, even a brisk one hour

walk in the mornings isn't enough to tire her out. I'm thinking as the days

lengthen (and I can do it when it's cool) I might give her TWO most days,

in addition to all the mental stimulation.

She had 8 hours at day care last Friday, one where they have webcams and

you can check in on them all day, and every time I saw her she was having a ball,

yet still dashed around when she came home.

I think the owner in the OP must really love the dog, enough to take a video

and post it. my experience, loving owners do that kind of thing!

Tell you the truth, I am envious of a dog on a treadmill. I dunno how many times weather is just gawd awful, but my dogs just don't care. Every time I move, they run to the door, or just get anxious. Then there I am putting on the boots & gloves, or shorts and T-shirt.

Winter/summer, both extremes. At least summer I can take them to the lake/river and they just run around as I fish.:)

I've taken my dalmation a thirty mile mountain bike ride and not managed to tire him out. One hour walk? Get a bike go as fast as you can for an hour - that'll do it -- maybe. Or just get him fitter so you have to go further.
