N Korean video imagines attack on Washington

Post by Jessica12 »

North Korea has produced a new propaganda video portraying a simulated attack on the White House and the US Capitol Building in Washington DC. The four-minute video, entitled "Firestorms will rain on the Headquarters of War", was posted Monday on the YouTube channel of the North Korea¡¯s semi-official central news agency Uriminzokkiri. A series of shots depicting North Korean soldiers, artillery fire, and military hardware culminate in an image of crosshairs zooming in on the White House. The scene quickly cuts over to images of computer rendered explosions bursting around the dome of the US Capitol building.

"There is no limit to the range of our strategic rockets," the narrator warns. This is not the first time a North Korean Propaganda video has depicted a military strike on the United States. In February, Uriminzokkiri circulated an internet video showing a skyline resembling New York, up in flames.

Provocations and aggressive rhetoric by the DPRK (North Korea) are unhelpful and undermine international efforts to ensure peace and stability in Northeast Asia.

That's what happens when a superpower prolongs a civil war by sixty years by occupying half the country. Nobody, I hope, thinks the occupation is anything other than self-interested. Why on earth would North Korea not regard the USA as an enemy nation, given the circumstances?

What would ensure peace and stability in Northeast Asia is the reunification of Korea, nothing else is going to bring reconciliation and progress. Reunification isn't going to happen until the occupation of South Korea is ended. The complete departure of all US armed forces from the country is the core of the solution, as it is everywhere else in the world. The only legitimate base for US armed forces is the US Homeland.

Actually it is 2 superpowers, America and China. America wants the means to pressure China in any way possible the Korean conflict allows the US to keep substantial military forces in the region. China uses N Korea as a buffer between the hostile US and it's northern provinces. It's much like how the USSR used the Warsaw Pact. Considering the history of the region and the warlike tendencies of the US MIC China is not going to allow the situation to change.

I do believe there will be a major conflict there some day, it will cost 10s of millions of lives. Not that any politicians in the region care.

Let me guess, that's Hillary Clinton sat on the dome looking shocked.

The more you-all shred your own political system that way, the happier I'll get.
