The Year of the Comet...This Year!

Post by Saint_ »

The recently discovered comet ISON is thought by many scientists to possibly be the event of the century. The comet, which is pristine and has never fallen into the gravity well before, has the potential to shine brighter than a full moon and be very visible in the daytime. The comet's tail will stretch from the Sun to the orbit of Jupiter. It will be visible to the naked eye for almost three months!

The last time a comet this big came by was in the 1600's! This comet's orbit is 10 million years long, so we're all lucky to be ringside right now! Comet Party!!!

This should be really cool.I remember watching Halle Bopp. I bought a telescope just for Halle Bopp so my kids could watch it. We had fun observing it through the telescope, binoculars and just with the naked eye. I hope this one is as good or better. I'd like my grandkids to see it.
