Overall I think the students will adjust as they do with all other courses. A few may feel it is against their values, but those are becoming smaller each day.
The course will be fine and stay in the catalog. It does provide needed education.

Not a confrontation - just trying to get you to see and appreciate that, on an international forum, people will have different experiences to you and come at subjects with different cultural references and without specific knowledge of US customs and practices.

I was only curious as to whether American children get the same sort of sex education at the same age as British children do. I know what happens here in Britain, but not sure what happens in America. I also know that at any stage I can request that my children do not take part in any sex education classes. I know I stopped my son seeing the video of a woman giving birth, purely because he absolutely freaks if he witnesses anyone in pain due to his Autism, my daughter will view it all this year, hope it scares her for a few years yet :wah: Mind you, an almost two year old little brother is enough to put her off at the moment hehehe.

Actually, over here a group of experienced 50 year olds may act in this way just as the students. I suspect it is more a matter of a different culture than a level of maturity. Different cultures react to different subjects in different ways.

My 13 year old had the simulated baby for a weekend this year. It was just a weekend, but that was plenty. They then were getting into sex education and addressing both physical and emotional aspects of engaging. Also they discussed abstinence. I got a letter to sign and send back if I did not want her participating.
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.
