Yellow pages?

Post by YZGI »

There are 3 telephone books in the town that I have my business. It costs hundred of dollars a month to have my name in all three yellow pages. In fact it was over a thousand a month before this year when I cut them all down a bit. Just wondering how effective the yellow pages still are.

Thanks.

My natural reaction is still to grab the local directory when looking for services but I use the internet when looking for goods.

The online directories are usually more up-to-date, these days.

I think we have a copy of the Yellow Pages around here, but, I have not had a need for it for a few years.

Of course, it depends on the community, too.

My son, over on the western slope lives in a town where the only internet access is either 9.6k dial-up, or satellite. It's usually quicker to look it up on the book.

Many times I will look through the Yellow Pages first, then investigate my findings online.

I recently threw out several old Yellow Pages still in the wrapper.
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

I voted sometimes still use Yellow Pages, and then couldn't think of the last

time I did. But I don't think I was really ever a frequent user, most of the

time I found out about businesses other ways. And not a big consumer

anyway.

One for instance, is my next door neighbor works for a landscaping

company, and so for almost 11 years now, they have done all our

bigger tree trimming, etc. and I didn't need to get bids or anything,

because he gave me a (nudge nudge, wink wink) family discount.

I do use the yellows, and the bigger the page, does make an impression.

But then like recently my "old" computer took took a dump. I mean really, where am I to take it to? Can't find it on the internet.

Anyway, to bad we are so far apart.

I my time would be better spent working for you in for less than the government mandate than posting on here.

I recycle all phone books, never use them.
