What happened to Kamala Harris' campaign?
She had the black vote all locked up.

Yup, Hollywood's been on your side for way too long. Maybe they'll stop feeding the paranoia too.

I wouldn't necessarily go as far as the end of the clip, but the hypocrisy of Hollywood can't be ignored here. If an actor appears in violent films & condemns violence in "real" life, well maybe s(he) should never again act, make tons of money, in such a film & make the declaration. Otherwise, it is hypocrisy.

Why not? Wasn't it the point? How would you have ended it?

It's just in my normal everyday life I don't use words like f### and think it turns many people off. I don't have any suggestions. It does seem to fit.

I agree with you, Anne but do you think it will change? I would like to hope so but I wouldn't bet on it.

Since they each spoke out against gun violence do you think they recognized that the roles they played could have made it look OK to shoot people?

It's an interesting cycle. Actors would tell you that they play the parts Hollywood gives them. Hollywood would tell you that they make the movies people want to see. It is similar to the situation a decade or so ago where Hollywood glamorized smoking and had to gradually change that based on public pressure. Look at the box office take for last weekend. The number one grossing movie was Texas Chainsaw 3D. Hollywood will respond gradually to public pressure, but the pressure isn't there yet.

Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained is up for five Oscars including best original screenplay and best film.

Here's what the people involved had to say about it:

No, m'lady. I don't think it will change. Violence has always played a part in drama/theatre/movies---the human drama---and always will. It is part of us, part of our story.

As for what an actor actually knows, I don't know either. I do know they have magnanimous egos, as they must have in order to survive in this career.
