I note the death this week of the finest, wittiest and most likeable American to have graced my lifetime. Gore Vidal's novels inform and educate while entertaining. We may no longer have the man but we continue to enjoy his works.

When flower power came along I stood for Human Rights, marched around for peace and freedom, had some nooky every night - we took it serious.
