You can't imagine that story's anything other than a concocted deliberate lie, oscar.

No?
There's not a line of it that makes sense. "It will be removed... to arrange release"? Has the half-wit who concocted the photo never seen a tow-away? Has it not been clamped prior to towing? What kind of parking enforcer is going to leave a car in a drivable state with a tow-away warning affixed?
What national security company puts its main national switchboard number on a "please ring us to arrange release" notice? Who in his right mind is going to put the international dial number +44 on a "please call us" note in London?
How can anyone look at that and not see the horizontal pasted-in badly-photoshopped typing added over an angled page in a photo?
It's not a matter of "You couldn't make It up", it's "You shouldn't make it up". The real story is the thing to focus on, this gibbering pointless trash is just an unwelcome distraction.
Are you seriously of the opinion that it's amusing?

There's a chap in the States who killed a dozen people last night because he thought pretending fiction was fact made a great joke. Blurring the boundary is not clever, neither as regards Batman nor as regards the G4S loadsamoney fiasco.

You're making wild assumptions. Until the gunman has been assessed by doctors and experts, there Is nothing to suggest that he actually believed he was In a Batman movie.
Being dresses as Batman Is a gulf away from believing fiction to a point where you murder people thinking you are In a movie.

Blurring the boundary ?
Are you relating a nutter shooting people in America to a harmless photographic pun ?
Have you ever played Boo with a child ?
Is that blurring the boundary ?

Let's at least wait until the gunman has given a police Interview and been assessed by experts before making such wild assumptions.

And?
He blurred the boundary between the fiction on screen and the fact in the cinema. People even said afterwards they thought to begin with that he was part of the entertainment.
I don't for a moment think he "believed he was In a Batman movie".
There were 24 dead in a bus crash earlier that day for whom I have far more sympathy than for those in the cinema. A country that can make a film like that - and an audience that can voluntarily go and watch it - has self-inflicted wounds, it breeds its own mass murderers. If you're looking for irony, consider President Obama's words - "As we do when confronted by moments of darkness and challenge, we must now come together as one American family. All of us must have the people of Aurora in our thoughts and prayers as they confront the loss of family, friends, and neighbors"? From the man who chooses to deploy drones that kill families in Pakistan on a far greater scale? How ironic do you want.

If anyone goes to see this appalling kill-fest film perhaps they'd count the number of on-screen deaths it depicts and report back to the thread.
Did I read there were children under ten in the auditorium for this midnight showing? And you wonder why Americans are desensitised to violence?

In the UK it is a 12A which means a child under 12 can only view the film with someone over 18 and it is the parents choice.

What is ironic is that the wages offered are above the minimum wage yet there are not enough takers - in London there is no real unemployment and that's just one of the reasons politicians think anyone long term unemployed is not trying to get a job. Drive around any industrial estate in the north of England and you will fond thousands of people who would like to be paid £8 an hour - it would be a welcome pay rise.
What else you couldn't make up is the fact that G4s will NOT be refunding any of the management fees they have received but never mind the Govt. is going to sort out all the benefit scroungers and those families who do not take responsibility for their mistakes and have too many kids so that's OK then, much easier to take money off the unemployed and disabled and let's have a go at the chavs while they're at it than get it back from a big international company that hasn't delivered what it was paid for.
I would like to give more money to the banks - after all they need it to get the economy going again. Maybe oscar could organise a whip round, given spot's predilection for misunderstanding and deliberate misinterpretation the prospect of oscar having a whip round should really liven things up a bit. :sneaky:

I have no more regard for Christopher Nolan than I have for anyone else involved in its production.
My sympathies are firmly with Americans, who have a great deal to contend with. I despise various aspects of American society. The Hollywood film industry figures strongly in that regard.

The chap with the weaponry in the cinema behaved in an uncultured manner by shooting at the audience.
The audience behaved in an uncultured manner by attending the film.
The film makers behaved in an uncultured manner by making the death-fest in the first place.
I suggest there's a chain of cause and effect all the way down the line there.
The 60's TV series featured a distinctly camp batman and the exact relationship with robin the boy wonder was the subject of much speculation and not a few jokes yet no one ever suggested it would lead to children turning out to be gay copying their erstwhile heroes. Andy pandy was a bit suspect as well and you are I suspect of generation where the flowerpot men have not done irredeemable harm to your speech. You may suggest there is cause and effect but there is very little evidence to back up your opinion. The vast majority of people can tell the difference between reality and fantasy seizing on odd incidents and taking it as proof of cause and effect does not make a lot of sense. Religious belief causes far more death and destruction than any film ever did perhaps that is because those attracted to religion are less capable of telling fantasy from reality yet no one dare suggest banning religion the irony being they do not dare to do so for fear of reprisal from those who disagree that religion justifies causes violence in the minds of the gullible.

It was Adam West In the 60's I recall.... and yes, It was camp.
I agree with you.... Does this mean we have a generation of children who believe they are wizards thanks to JK Rowling?

The Flower Pot Men spoke their own, highly inflected version of English, called Oddle Poddle. However, the popular notion that they ever said "Flobbalob" or "Flobbadob" is an urban myth; if one listened carefully to their banter, one could hear words like "Loblob" ("lovely") and "Flobberpop" ("flowerpot"), either of which could have given rise to the urban myth. At the end of each adventure, they would say bye-bye to each other and to the Little Weed - "Babap ickle Weed" - to which the Weed would inevitably reply with tremulous cadence "Weeeeeeeeeeed"

You make foul claims far too often. Very occasionally I use Wikipedia to find material which originates not with Wikipedia but with a credible documented source. I don't think you'll find any example of my quoting Wikipedia except where the documented source is shown. The paragraph you offered, by contrast, has no documented source and is demonstrably wrong as we've both shown. What you might now do is edit the article into something more resembling truth - not an act I'd normally associate with you, but there's a first time for everything.

Merely correcting your inaccuracies. I've edited the Wikipedia paragraph too, and added a discussion section.

There is, how about you discuss that somewhere else?
It's not got anything to do with someone jokingly putting up a fake tow away ticket for a practical joke, no one was harmed in the making of the joke.

I suggest there's a chain of cause and effect all the way down the line there.
You could start another thread for yourself, define 'cultured'
