I think the libdems have lost their core support.

The murdoch owned papers are fervently anti snp so the coverage is a bit biased. The SNP also did better than expected

On what grounds ?

Uruguay is not in the Commonwealth, or former Colonial country, Uruguay has no connection to the UK as far as I know.

Anyone can apply to become a British Citizen....

If you are over 18 and have been living in the United Kingdom for the last five years (or three years if you are married to or a civil partner of a British citizen) you are able to apply for naturalisation as a British citizen.

Turkey Is not part of the Commnwealth, the EU nor has any links to the UK yet all of my local Turkish community are British Citizens....

By the way............ who would have thought It eh ?... The BNP candidate for Mayor Is an Immigrant :yh_rotfl :sneaky::sneaky:

I am interested in how a Uruguayan becomes eligible to be both a British citizen and a BNP candidate for Mayor of London.

I can just about understand Turkish immigrants, being loosely connected via Cyprus Turkish/Cypriot and being in Europe......but Uruguay ?

It's got nothing to do with the Euro zone.... eg.. A Somalian can become a British citizen providing he has lived here for 5 years.... That happens to be the UK law.

Once you are a British citizen, you can stand for Parliament If you want to.... Look at how many Indian and Pakistani elected Councillors we have In the UK.... they were not all born here.

St Andrews? Do you mean the menie estate perhaps? Yes he did thanks to salmond and it has cost the SNP votes although they don't seem to realise kowtowing to mouthy foreigners doesn't go down well.

He's a politician but it's an interference that annoys a surprising number of people. The SNP have also done little to nothing about land reform in scotland.
