The Freedom Tower and the Memorial: America Returns

Here's a neat time lapse video of the Freedom Tower rising from the ashes. Enough to stir the heart of any American, while I was watching it I thought, "America is on the rise again.":-6

Then, of course, I got into trouble with my wife right after that when they showed the 9/11 memorial and I commented that, "A hole in the ground doesn't seem like a fitting memorial to me."

She replied, "It's a memorial, get over it."

What's your reaction to both?

I suppose it's due to the fact the no memorial will ever erase the memory I have of watching the second plane hit the second tower so I guess the memorial is better suited for the family members of the victims and the children of America that have no such memories of 09/11/2001.

Ok, to imbed, what you have to do is to click on the video first in YouTube and get it running. Once it's running, copy and past THAT url, (not the url that you see before the video starts) then just use the "filmstrip" icon above the post. ({video][/video})

I hadn't been following this as closely as I probably should have and it was nice to see it in action. That's an impressive skyline! As for the 9/11 Memorial, although it may not be the design I personally would have chosen, I think it's appropriate and beautiful. I think it's grown on me!
