Kauto Star rated only 50/50 to race in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham Festival after a fall when schooling - Telegraph

News from the stables Is that Kauto did well In his canter today.

Paul Nicholls has said Kauto will undergo canters every day now and a decision will be made In a weeks time as to weather he'l run In the Gold Cup.

Rival trainer 'David Pipe' ( Trainer of Gold Cup contender Grand Crus ) tweeeted today.... " I have an Inner feeling that the Star will still shine through at Cheltenham".

I hope he's right.

Kauto's update today Is promising. He kept up a 10 furlong run along side What A Friend today.

He's having a rest Sunday then back to work. Fingers crossed.

More good news from the yard yesterday.

After a good canter, Kauto by all accounts had some 'swagger' return and after training, enjoyed a roll... something he only does when he has enjoyed himself..... It's looking good.
