Nuts-----Oh how I love them

I love all kinds of nuts and am sitting here eating my favorite, cashews. I wish my taste was for less expensive nuts because I can really devour cashews. Pecans would be a close second followed by walnuts.

Where did the expression "You are nuts" come from?

nuts "crazy," 1846, from earlier be nutts upon "be very fond of" (1785), which is possibly from nuts (n., pl.) "any source of pleasure" (1617), from nut (q.v.). Sense influenced probably by metaphoric application of nut to "head" (1846, e.g. to be off one's nut "be insane," 1860). Nut "crazy person, crank" is attested from 1903,

Will be in NZ until March 2 except for 14 days in Rarotonga (Cook Islands) and yes being in NZ does change people. I am even beginning to enjoy cricket. :wah:

My favorite are Brazil nuts but I don't think I've ever seen a container of them. I only ever find them as a little bonus thrown into a can of mixed nuts, just the obligatory 2 or 3 Brazil nuts in a mountain of peanuts and cashews.

Good god!!!! .....either you're getting old or the southern hemisphere air is going to your brain . ......how are the sheep looking? .....attractive???? (got some velcro gloves and gumboots (wellies) if you need them ...unused)
