Botulism in jar of sauce

Post by Bruv »

People are being advised not to eat certain jars of Loyd Grossman korma sauce after two people in Scotland were taken to hospital with botulism.

Frightening, if you can't trust a bottle of cook in sauce, what can you trust ?
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

what is this used in? i've never heard of it before now.
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6

Is this another scare like the Germans blaming the Spanish salad for their e-coli outbreak?

As likely to be a jar left open for a couple of weeks in an infected fridge if they cannot find any infection in the rest of the batch.

Korma sauce is a very mild cream and coconut curry that you'd typically cook chicken in and pour over rice.

Jalfrezi sauce is somewhat warmer and ?wishful thinking? more likely to kill off the bacteria than the eater.

No but I do and the supermarket was having a half price promotion on it. I like mexican as well. If you'd been brought up on a diet of mince and tatties and deep fried pizza you'd want a change as well.

I found a freeze-dried spider in my Angel Delight once. Crunchy. It was a life changing experience.

What's wrong with tatties and mince? I practically live on the stuff. With herbs and tinned tomatoes and carrots and parsnips and mushrooms and onions and peppers or whatever else is around.

Oh. You must mean what I'd call savoury mince. Shudder. A dish attributable only to austerity or presbyterianism...
The crowd: "Yes! We are all individuals!"

Lone voice: "I'm not."
