Irritating Voices

First, let me say, I love, like and respect women, but there are some female voices that drive me nuts and that just irritate the hell out of me, particularly the whiney screechy ones. I don't have a similar problem with ANY of the male voices.

Among her other attributes, I was attracted to my wife by her soft and mellow seductive voice with a Kiwi accent.

Anyone else have a problem with voices? (If you are always hearing voices no need to reply):wah:

Yes funny enough, I have often turned the TV over or off due to an Irritating female voice grating on my nerves.

I do have a problem with some voices and, sadly, one of them is mine

When men reach a certain age group womens voices become irritating to them ...hence why older men prefer lower female voices . When men are younger they don't notice it too much ...as women get older their voices deepen so if you have a deep voice as a female you're going to end up being assumed a man when you're about 70 odd.

I'ts also well documented that when male children are young and discipline is involved you lower your voice (as a female ) to attract their attention. They can't hear you otherwise and after about the third sentence they switch off.

It's also the reason (female instinct aside) that fathers' will not (on average, again instinct aside) hear babies crying but will hear a low thump in the night.

Men between the ages of 45 and 70 are more irritated than younger men of female news readers voices and female radio announces.

It's a lot more involved than that of course but it is interesting isn't it?

I believe you are right Fuzz, makes sense because I don't remember as a young man that any female voices irritated me. Now at 77 the worst sounds for me come from fast text talking screetchy teen age girls.

a sexy voice (as we were told in school ) comes from the break up of your grammar and linguistics. Not tone or pitch unless you're deliberately elongating words or trying to make some words stand out .

ie: "I would love to come to the music festival"....simple sentence of appreciation....if you wanted to sound sexy ..you'd lower your tone for the words ...."to come to the music". It's an art and a very fine one . I love language.

One of the sexiest voices I have ever heard In a woman funny enough Is FG's Carolly.... That woman can purrrrrrrrrrr when she likes.

Fran Drescher absolutely has the worst female voice on record. Worse than Roseanne Barr with Barbara Walters as third runner up.

I find annoying high pitched voices from anyone, male, female or children when they screech. I think it is a hearing problem.:-3

Fran's voice has changed if you ask me, still irritating but different as she's aged I believe. As for Roseanne and Barbara, they both irritate me above the sound of their voices....
