I thought psychopaths didn't respond to normal stimuli , indeed they had no emotional responce to their own crime scenes?

The gist I got of the doco was that It's not based on normal stimuli. If they have a suspect of a murder say, then the only people who would know of the Intimate details of the crime scene would be the police and the suspect. They attach sensors to the head which pick up brain waves through recognition. So they show them a series of pictures on a tv screen of the murder victim, where It took place etc etc and mix them In with other pictures that have absolutely no meaning to them. When they see a picture relating to the victem or the crime scene, brain fingerprinting works by measuring and analyzing split-second spikes in electrical activity in the brain when it responds to something it recognizes.

They tested It on FBI agents by showing them acronyms used only by the FBI and mixed them In with others. All the FBI agents were Identified by recognition of the acronyms and no response from anything else they didn't know.

You understand that and can't sort out your boys undies ?

To me its disturbing, what else could they search for in our minds if they wanted to ?
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

That's Interesting Fuzz Whizz and I see your point. However, not all crimes are committed by Psychopaths and the method will be effective on murderers who do not possess Psychotic tendencies,

Bruz.... I have to admit, the doco made me a little uneasy about the whole thing.
