Why should stuff like this be kept secret?

The moratorium on releasing secret documents is far too long IMO,while i concede there might be good reasons for secrecy maybe if politicians knew the electorate would find out what they were up to they might be a bit more honest. I want to know what was discussed in the lead uo to our involvement ion the Iraq war for instance. I have a right to be able to hold the bastards to account.

Probably due to the monumental cover up of Inept policing.

Hillsborough - 20 years of police cover-up (July 7th People's Independent Inquiry Forum)

Things like this should never have had a moratorium in the first place. I don't think the sun ever recovered it's sales in Liverpool.
