Mosquitos, moths, flying insects other pests
Last evening as I was sitting on my patio with a nice glass of chilled white wine I was thinking how fortunate I was to not be continually swatting different insects or having ants creep up my legs. I have lived in parts of the U.S. where sitting outside on a warm summer evening was a endurance test with insects eventually winning.

mosquitoes are really bad this year due to so much rain last spring.
Life is just to short for drama.

much nicer where I now live, compared to my last residence. We have fairly dry air and mosquitoes are not nearly as bad as in the South.

'We have midges' is an understatement.
Not sure which Loch I spent the night beside under canvas, but if there is a hell, I hope they don't have midges there.

It was the one thing I really hated about New England and the Maritime Provinces.

Jokes have been made about the MOSQUITO'S in the state of MINNESOTA. Of course, with their TEN THOUSAND LAKES what can you expect. Some have suggested making the MOSQUITO the STATE BIRD.

Having recently relocated to the poorer side of this place it seems we have more mosquitoes than on the ritzy side with the view. We have a lot of humming birds and dragon and crane flies this time of year so that may help. I do miss PAs fire flies, they're something else but I don't miss the midge swarms along the Susquahanna. Don't even try to drive when they're out.

Being Texas, we used to have the biggest mosquitos but since the cities have started spraying and being diligent about removing standing water where mosquitos breed, our mosquito populations have seriously decreased and they aren't near as big anymore.
With it being too hot to hang around outside for very long, they could be out there breeding and growing without my knowing it, though.
