Hi there. Just joined here. I'm 38, British but live in Michigan, USA. I am into the medieval and renaissance times, love to get dressed up in court gowns and attend renaissance festivals. Have many hobbies, mostly making chainmaille jewellery and dreamcatchers, I love to travel, reading fantasty and medieval books, history fascinates me now and then. :) Mum to four children, three have Autism and my eldest daughter lives back in England with her dad.

Well enough for now, I look forward to sharing many things and discuss many things in life in general with you all and to make few friends too. :)

Actually not exactly, but I attend renaissance festivals dressed up in renaissance court gowns. Does that answer your question? Also with a name like yours, I know for a fact that it's welsh, mawr is welsh for big as I am welsh. :)

Bryn Mawr is Big Hill but I promise I'm not *that* big :-)

With a name of Guinevere I'd assumed you were Welsh - a true princess of the blood without a doubt.

Take a look at the Society of Creative Anachronism - you might find it interesting.

Don't worry, I know what you mean that you're big. :) Big is also known for being tall too, so I presumed you are tall. So may I ask is it your nickname or something?? :)

I'm a huge fan of Arthurian times and I was born in North Wales and lived most of my younger years there, then moved to the West Midlands and now Michigan in the USA. :)

Well I know some about SCA but I prefer medieval and renaissance actually, but thank you anyway for suggesting it to me, I do appreciate that. :)

I chose Bryn Mawr when I joined this forum purely so that I would be recognised by the person that invited me to join but now I use it as my cyber identity wherever I go.

I grew up on the Arthurian cycle and although it is (in its current form) demonstrably cobbled together five hundred years after the events I still see the legend as the basis for the British national identity.

Well good for you. It's a good name. :) I use Guinevere a lot too and Lady Guinevere as my character name when I attend renaissance festivals. :)
