John Huntsman----Presidential Contender?

The Chinese Government likes our U.S. Ambassador to their country and appreciates the fact that he is fluent in Mandarin which he learned as a Mormon Missionary. It looks like Huntsman may be launching a bid for the U.S. presidency. With Mitt Romney, we could have two Mormons running for president against Obama. :-3

Would a catholic standing for president be the same big issue today as it has been in the past?

It will always be an issue with some, but in my opinion, not the majority. Mormons however are another matter. Catholics have not engaged in door to door evangelizing.

They tend not to do so at home but they are renowned for doing so when abroad - quite forcefully.

It would be interesting to watch. There is a significant segment of the Republican party that would not feel comfortable being represented by a Mormon, but they can't simply make it an overt religious battle. This segment now has Trump touting his religious faith and church-going ways. Huntsman and Romney both seem to be intelligent men, and even more so compared to the other contenders.
