Birthers are on to a new game.

So Arizona Legislature has passed a "Birther" bill that would require Presidential candidates to provide a Birth Certificate when registering for the ballot in the state.

Will Gov. Jan Brewer sign “birther” bill into law? | The State Column

Louisiana is following suit and I suspect a few other states (Georgia, probably, among others) to join the parade.

Are there any sane Republicans out there?

I think I might be the last one.

I have a feeling that the AZ law will be struck down by the courts. It does make for an amusing sideshow, though. It is a nice dodge to avoid actually talking about real issues.

So who will you be voting for, Sarah Palin or Donald trump? Over here we seem to have a choice between tweedledum or tweedledumber

It is an interesting field and should provide months of entertainment, especially once the candidates must begin to compete with each other, rather than just yelling that they hate Obama more than the other candidates. I think it would be very entertaining to watch a debate between Trump, Palin, Bachmann, Barbour, Huckabee, and Gingrich, if any of them ever actually declares themselves to be a candidate.

The process of running for office has become rather demeaning recently. CNN has candidates raising their hand to answer questions and now they'll have to carry their birth certificate around with them on the campaign trail. It's all becoming comical. Add to it the abuse and one has to wonder why anyone would want to hold office.

Welcome to FG, Wandrin. :) Where ya from?

Did anybody hear Donald Trump on NBC? He's quite the showman for the average idiot. He says America gets no respect blah blah blah but I wonder what he's going to do about it. Build more nukes, ? Go after the corporations that don't pay taxes and ship jobs overseas? Start making stuff in America again? Attack Russia or blockade China? Give himself a stroke? Don't forget, this guy is the ultimate capitalist too.

I think that many countries and people don't respect us, we don't even take care of ourselves. Our government is a joke.

The percentage of birthers among people who identify themselves as Republicans has actually increased significantly over the past two years, as is the percentage that think Obama is a Muslim. Go figure! It must be in someone's interest to keep the idea going, although I have no idea who that might be.

I suppose when it comes to irrational beliefs looking for a rational reason is a bit pointless.

Just when you thought it couldn't get more irrational. Charlie Sheen is now a birther. “For starters, I was f**king born here, how about that? And I got proof! Nothing Photoshopped about my birth certificate,” Sheen said, in an interview. And in the most recent poll, among those identifying themselves as independents, Charlie Sheen is ahead of Sarah Palin.
