I've worn contact lenses for most of my life but my eyes were getting gritty and they were becoming uncomfortable. The only glasses I had were several years old and no longer strong enough - plus, at -10.5, the lenses were heavy enough to be irritating.
With my contacts in I could see to read, compute and drive with no problems - now, suddenly, I "must" have different prescriptions for each.
I don't like to be pissed off, it gets my back up

So, a quick visit to Moorfields later, I'm better than 20/20 for the first time in half a century. 4.5 point on the reading card - no problem, spec on the horizon - never been clearer.
The question is, therefore, why did I wait for so long? I had them assessed three years back but, because they could not be sure I would not need reading glasses (and I'm reading 12+ hours a day), I decided against. My daughter had it done a year ago and I refused to join her. I can see - why did I wait?
