I have a good example of Christians gone wrong.
I'm reading a book at the moment about a woman who had her two children abducted back to Indonesia. (by her prince ex husband.) Whilst filling in time (because she was an ambassador and journo) she went to other countries to make a doco on abducted children and to do charity work. She began an organisation that, instead of publishing companies throwing out all their old unsold books she would take them overseas to schools in need.
So she does this and comes across a village that needs her books for their school. But when she tried to give the books over THE CHRISTIANS ...who had taken this village under their wing (an american chapter of christianity aid agency) would not allow her to do so. She had to give the books over to them and give them the credit because they allowed her to be there. She was not allowed to talk or interact with the villagers or the children in the school. Now we all know what would have gone on after she left. The so called controlling CHRISTIANS would have told the villagers they were from them and god. Not an agnostic/islamist/ christian who off her own back brought these books to them.
A short paragraph from the book. 'Since I was a Princess' Jacqueline Pascarl. Chpter 7 Operation Book Power. pge 98
There were blatant attempts to limit my conversations with various communities. In one instance I caught a representative of an aid agency bullying a villager to whom I had just spoken, insisting that the villager hand over my business card and not attempt to contact me. In another, a tribal elder admitted in a snatched private moment. That singing hymns and reciting prayers prior to class were prerequisits for the village children being granted an education in the school partly funded by the aid agency. BEcause of their limited finances the village - and the government - apparently saw no other choice but to turn a blind eye to this practice.
I find the idea of humanitarian aid being tied to religious conversion very troubling.
eventually she withdrew partnership with this particular Aid agency

My wife and daughter found exactly this attitude when travelling in Cambodia. The American schools taught English at fee whereas the British schools were Christian and taught English for free - but you had to convert to go there.
Not surprisingly the Cambodians would scrimp and save to get the money to go to the American schools.
Had the British been truly been Christian they would have taught the needy regardless and relied on their Christian example to convert those who were receptive - what they were doing was no more than bribery and almost guaranteed that they would have no genuine converts at the end of the day.

You're better off not being a christian - at least you don't get tied up in interminable debates about the true nature of jesus depending on how you choose to interpret things. Like he was really being violent when he chased the money lenders - he must have been or been seen as enough of a threat for them to get out his way. The notion that they wouldn't have just turned round and belted him one doesn't stack up imo.
He was clearly not averse to upsetting the establishment of the day and taking the consequences to me that also suggests he may have been peaceful but was not necessarily a pacifist.

That didn't make any sense.
Christians don't what?
Are you by any chance trying to be offensive?

I write this in Peace but expect litttle in return with respect
You write as if that is typical of Christians but unlike JW's, Christians are all uniqely individual.
I have treid to have debates with JW'S who have come to my door and invited them in but they seem only able to stick to a script instead of freely discuss any part of scripture freely. I also attended on of their "services" which appeared more like a bisness conference and gave hardly any Glory to God.
WHt gets me the most however is that none of them was able to recognise, John 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
I have no expectation that you will even recognise this
but my optimism still burns brightly
