This is a long read but it's well worth it.

Black ops: how HBGary wrote backdoors for the government

Who writes viruses? US companies, among others.

Who run sockpuppet accounts on facebook, twitter and forums? US Federal departments, apparently. The article references https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity ... ode=list&= for example.

I might try extending my thread on http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/compu ... urity.html but I did get several of the threats right. I'm not sure what answers exist, not yet.

The tale seems to be going mainstream. Perhaps that's a little optimistic, but it ought to. It's a hell of a story, the way parts of this particular security company behaved. Why are HBGary's employees not in Guantanamo Bay being interrogated?
