Not gunna happen. That would require that they speak out against their president. Hope & Change ... Hope for Change .... Got any Change?

He's not my President, and neither do I like his policies. I argued in favor of McCain/Palin in 2008 just to avoid the current situation and I was ignored despite being entirely correct as usual. A Democrat White House administration taking over the Bush 2 catastrophe was completely self-defeating.

I have seen it. Say the name Obama and glassy starry eyes stare off into space. Rather unsettling. Even diehard Bush fans said WTF after some of the things he said and did. Even Clinton never got the glassy eyed far off stare. Kinda weird.

Why are you surprised? My understanding is the president can't just order the release. Congress backed bush when he set gauntanimo up, if they now decide it was wrong are they not culpable as well. Bit like Tony Blair. If he is found to be at fault by the chilcott inquiry then parliament is also at fault because they let him do it and keep on doing it even after the facts became clear. just as congress let Bush invade Iraq they share the blame if it was a wrong decision they also share the blame if holding people without trial was wrong. The other nations involved don't want to admit they did bugger all to object at the arrest of their nationals so if they don't get home it avoids the issue. It's like political pass the parcel, so long as it keeps moving no one is responsible or gets the blame. Given his reaction to wikileaks he's not really a champion of open government and accountability is he?
What's happening with Bradley Manning?

Are they scared to put him on trial or what? If he broke the law put him on trial, since when can you imprison someone indefinitely without charging them in the land of the free? It would be interesting if a jury decided he wasn't a traitor but a heroic whistle-blower deserving a medal for speaking out.

This comes from a guy that on the first day of his regime signed an executive order hiding all of his personal records and then declaring his to be the most transparent administration ever. :-2 :wah:

President Obama's Executive Order 13489 revoked George W Bush's Executive Order 13233 which had left the public/private decision to the President of the period concerned. The revocation reinstated the assumption of transparency which had, the Bush years excepted, been the common standard from 1978.
Want to check? Here is the Obama order and here is the Bush order.

Never trust a politician once they get office. In an ideal world people who want power for it's own sake would never get it and those who would do a good job out of a sense of duty would. Sadly we live in a time when ideals are thin on the ground and sold and he who shouts the loudest is assumed to know what they are talking about.
Actually one thing that wikileaks does seem to show is that your professional diplomats are pretty astute.

By that logic, a Democrat can never be elected. Since after Bush 3, you get the same argument.

Looks like fascism is winning out, mostly thanks to the hard work of the GOP. Not sure what you think you've won here.

{sarcasm}Yes, it's the GOP's fault that obummer has failed to close Gitmo and hold the civilian trials in NYC. The GOP had a magical power to stymie the donks the last two years while the donks held unparalleled govt power.{/sarcasm}

It's not magic, the GOP just crippled the process. It takes more than one party to get something done.
You should pat yourself on the back for getting your way, then pat yourself down.

Please provide evidence of the GOP's ability to stop any legislation between 1/2009 and 1/2011 when the donks held the White House, the House majority, and a filibuster-proof Senate majority.
And, don't forget the chucklehead-in-chief signing an executive order closing Gitmo within 12 months on the first day of his regime.
I'll hang up now and wait for your learned reply. :wah:

Are you proud of Gitmo or not? You almost seem embarrassed to take credit for it.

How does my opinion have anything to do with your messiah lying thru his teeth and the you (the left) giving him a pass?
I guess you commies have no shame gene in your genetic code. The unmitigated hypocrisy of the left just whooshes right by you, doesn't it? :wah:

You screwed the situation up to the point there is no easy solution. I'm not sure why you are whining though, you got your way.
