Happy to see the back of the snow and ice for my part. I missed the sun though. Must have disappeared before midday.

Choice?! When did I get to choose?! I told my Mum when I was 8 that I wanted to live in Australia. She said 'no'.

The first half of a song I wrote when I was 17 and bored behind a GPO test desk:

Waking up from the depths of my void,

On a ship on which I am employed.

Hurtling through space at a million rates

To a place called Nowhere.

Note how the last two lines don't rhyme. But I wrote two 8-line verses.

Thank you chonsi. He joined Cadets and passed out a couple of weeks ago . It's the only time they are allowed to wear the brim of the hat up because it's disrespectful for a Cadet to wear it like that . normally the brim is down . which I find disrespectful, I don't think the rising sun should point to the ground......Oh well. rules are rules I guess

A handsome young man indeed fuzzywuzzy. Going by the replies it's clear we're all, quite rightly, very impressed.

Please pass on best wishes to him.

To all and sundry, this thread is a test . If you come here to post be patient. It will become what it becomes .........Okay, to be honest, I have a wager going .

So it will be a bit like Captain cook discovering Australia .....actually the French were before him but they got to Botany Bay and said "Tis will noot doo.....tis plaise iz sheet"...Captain Cook came to Botany Bay after them, And said ..."well it is a bit sh'it but if we go around the corner a bit, it might be rather nice" but of course he was a Yorkshire man......So he most probably said "This place is Fooking Sh'ite"!!!!

so hang about and we'll see where this thread goes ......I think OM passed out from drunkeness But he'll be back!!! :)

Cool for school AFTR!!!! and very apt for news years eve!!! (being on a Friday).

Hey OM go to my FB photos.

Just wondering what everyones' pubs are doing for New Years eve? All our close at ten ....In the next large town they are closing at Six. !!!!! WT hell is that all about ? Well they've brought in new laws in which you have to have a certain amount of security ...no one can go beyond the dreaded ...RED LINE ...with their glass of alcohol.....(city rules don't work in the country) So they all decided it was cheaper to close and open for lunch the next day when people will need a feed........tha's kinda sad that rules and regulations is actually keeping towns folk from celebrating New years.

HHHmmmm And this is why I enjoy myself these days .

Last thursday the "happy hookers" were in town. Beaut bunch of blokes that rock the pub when ever they are here. Three were at the pub Thursady night. I don't know how these guys do it but somehow the drunker they get the more words to songs they seem to be able to recite . They had patrons and the even the publicans singing away to all manner of songs.

Yesterday I recieved a phone call. One of the gentleman died of a heart attack New years eve......................HOly **** . This bloke was younger than me, Good looking and looked in perfect health the night before. And singing his heart away.

RIP Mate ..............I shall lower the rods in your honour today.

Come on OM I need cheering up . I thought I'd had a crap New Years ............But some had it a whole lot worse than me.

That's sad. How precious life is, eh? I just got extremely hammered New Year's eve and didn't get home till gone 5 am New Year's Day. Boy, did I have a cliff of a hangover.

I spent the stroke of midnight on the pub bus because my friend was very politely ejected from the pub. (wasn't playing up or anything but he's a big boy and if he goes to sleep or falls down you'd need half a dozen peeps to lift him up again. ).......Boy was I dark, because up until then I was having fun , even learnt to play the spoons lol lol lol lol

We had to pay to get into our pub New Year's eve. The proceeds go to the MacMillan Nurses. A pretty crazy night but there was no trouble that I saw.

It's called statistics ...if you close the pubs then it all becomes 'domestics' on the running sheet ...god the government is good. Pathetic really. At least our pub eventually stayed open . No trouble at all ...closed at 1 45 am .
