Propoxyphene(Darvocet/Darvon); Safe or not?

So is Propoxyphene safe or not?

We've just been issued to pull it in the pharmacy through recall after quite a number of years of question yet after searching some still agree it's "safe enough" which is exactly what my girlfriends doctor said when he'd prescribed her generic Darvocet(Propoxyphene-Acetaminophen) only 2 weeks ago...

looks like it's being linked to heart arrhythmia, though the FDA vote to pull it was fairly close at 14-12

I had a very negative reaction to it many years ago, 1970's and never took it again.

About the only pain med I don't have a reaction to is Ibuprofen, though.

I remember reading something years ago that said the stuff was under investigation.
