window

I think the window is one of the most important parts of the home. In the morning, you open the curtains or blinds, and look out onto the day. It is sunny or overcast or rainy? Are there any animals or birds out there? A window brings the outside in. You feel safe inside. You can look out and see what's going on. And at night, when the darkeness covers the outside, you close your curtains or blinds and turn on your inside lights. You don't want anyone peeking into your sanctuary.

Ofcourse, it is good to use your door and go outside once in awhile. :wah:

And then there are some people that look out through steel bars on the widow with a view of fencing with barbed wire and towers with guards. They get to go outside too, maybe once a week, sometimes twice. And there are those that don't even have windows to look through and don't get to go outside at all. But then, it's a choice that they have made, to look through curtains or bars or neither.

choice

When you think about it, every single waking moment, we make a choice. We may not be conscious of any decision we've made, but we do it all the same. Most of our decisions are of little consequence. But, once in awhile, we have to make a crucial choice with the outcome affecting our very lives.

little

Does anyone else have a shadowbox? It is a framed wooden box with inserts and a cork backing. It holds little knick-knacks and you hang it on your wall. I've owned mine for over 25 years and bought it when we lived in Germany. Most of my display is of little houses.

A friend of mine sent me a U.S. stamp with Garfield & Odie on it just the other day, it sits in a framed picture on my desk here so I can see it and always think about her.

“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”

true

So true funny how it seems

always in time, but never in line for dreams.

Head over heels when toe to toe.

This is the sound of my soul,

this is the sound

I bought a ticket to the world,

but now I've come back again

Why do I find it hard to write the next line?

Oh I want the truth to be said

Huh huh huh hu-uh huh

I know this much is true

Huh huh huh hu-uh huh

I know this much is true

With a thrill in my head and a pill on my tongue

dissolve the nerves that have just begun

Listening to Marvin (all night long)

This is the sound of my soul,

this is the sound

Always slipping from my hands,

Sets a time of its own

Take your seaside arms and write the next line

Oh I want the truth to be known

Huh huh huh hu-uh huh

I know this much is true

Huh huh huh hu-uh huh

I know this much is true

I bought a ticket to the world,

but now I've come back again

Why do I find it hard to write the next line?

Oh I want the truth to be said

Huh huh huh hu-uh huh

I know this much is true

Huh huh huh hu-uh huh

I know this much is true

One of my favorite songs.

Just imagine before electricity; television, telephones, the internet, how immense the world must have seemed to people. Another continent might just as well been another planet. Any news was old news no matter how well it was received.

imagine

by John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven

It's easy if you try

No hell below us

Above us only sky

Imagine all the people

Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries

It isn't hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion too

Imagine all the people

Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions

I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger

A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people

Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will live as one

I find it amazing the amount of people who live here have no respect for other drivers.

Some seem to be in such a rush and pay no attention in how they are driving nor care.

small

Cashew my new kitten was really small when I first got her four months ago at the age of 8 weeks, since then she has been spayed and had her shots by a vet on wheels.

My new vet comes right to my home and does everything here, when it was time for her to be spayed, she took her to a clinic she works from, she phoned me when Cashew was just going into surgery, and she phoned me 30 minutes later when Cashew came to.

This vet is half the price of a regular vet as she has no overhead, plus she is the best vet I have ever had.

Ice

You know, I didn't even think of doing that. I'm so used to any bruise fading quickly I thought this would be gone in a day or two. But it's starting to turn a lovely shade of green with a purple bullseye. I'll ask my daughter who is a nurse what the guy hit that he shouldn't have.

Yes, I heard about the death of Leslie Neilson. I remember him in one of those "Tammy" movies. That's that thing about motion picture actors, we can still see them every now and then in a film on TV.......if we are lucky. I'm watching 1940's "Mortal Storm" right now on TCM.

So what's happening around your community this season? The ice skating rink is opening at the Civic Center in Savannah. The military community is collecting "Toys for Tots" at various stores in the area. Christmas carols are playing sporadically on the local radio stations. Neighborhoods are inviting the public to come see their Christmas lights.

Radio

I remember a radio I received one Christmas. My first .....and my very own. It was a small off-white electric Peerless. I proudly placed it on my bedroom window sill and turned it on so my sisters and I could enjoy listening to the new tunes. It was magic. I think I was twelve or thirteen at the time. "Sherry" by the Four Seasons, "Telstar" and "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" by Neil Sedaka. And many more. One of my favorite Christmas gifts. What was yours?

Feel

I Feel The Earth Move lyrics

Songwriter: King, Carole;

I feel the earth move under my feet

I feel the sky tumblin' down

I feel my heart start to tremblin'

Whenever you're around

Ooh, baby, when I see your face

Mellow as the month of May

Oh, darlin', I can't stand it

When you look at me that way

I feel the earth move under my feet

I feel the sky tumblin' down

I feel my heart start to tremblin'

Whenever you're around

Ooh darlin', when you're near me

And you tenderly call my name

I know that my emotions

Are something I just can't tame

I've just got to have you, baby

I feel the earth move under my feet

I feel the sky tumblin' down, a tumblin' down

I feel the earth move under my feet

I feel the sky tumblin' down, a tumblin' down

I just a lose control

Down to my very soul

I get a hot and cold

All over, all over, all over, all over

I feel the earth move under my feet

I feel the sky tumblin' down, a tumblin' down

I feel the earth move under my feet

I feel the sky tumblin' down, a tumblin' down

A tumblin' down, a tumblin' down, a tumblin' down

Tumblin' down

baby (again)

THE SHIRELLES

"Baby, It's You"

(Bacharach/David/Williams)

It's not the way you smile that touched my heart.

It's not the way you kissed that tears me apart.

Many, many, many nights go by.

I sit alone at home and cry over you.

What can I do?

Don't want nobody, nobody

Cause, baby, it's you.

Baby, it's you.

Is it true what they say about you?

They say you'll never, ever, never be true.

It doesn't matter what they say.

I know I'm gonna love you any old way.

What can I do?

What 'bout you?

Don't want nobody, nobody.

Baby, it's you.

Baby, it's you.

Baby.

It doesn't matter what they say.

I know I'm gonna love any old way.

What can I do?

What 'bout you?

Don't want nobody, nobody.

Baby, it's you.

Baby, it's you.

Don't leave me alone.

Come on home.

Baby, it's you.

Baby, it's you.

You know I need your lovin'

You know I love you.

Baby, it's you.

Baby...

So let the sun shine through, start a new day and stop being so blue.

Blue Skies Lyrics

I was blue, just as blue as I could be

Ev'ry day was a cloudy day for me

Then good luck came a-knocking at my door

Skies were gray but they're not gray anymore

Blue skies

Smiling at me

Nothing but blue skies

Do I see

Bluebirds

Singing a song

Nothing but bluebirds

All day long

Never saw the sun shining so bright

Never saw things going so right

Noticing the days hurrying by

When you're in love, my how they fly

Blue days

All of them gone

Nothing but blue skies

From now on

[2]

I should care if the wind blows east or west

I should fret if the worst looks like the best

I should mind if they say it can't be true

I should smile, that's exactly what I do
Life is a Highway. Let's share the Commute.
