Does anyone have a simple site for downloading pictures as thumbnails that can be used on FG? All of my pictures that I download from my camera are too large.

I'm not doing well with picnik, pr or infranview...probably not understanding the directions.

I'm so frustrated and sick of trying to figure this out.

Thanks for any help.

IrfanView Frequently Asked Questions is a summary. If you want to do it with a directory-full of images then I could post up a step-by-step guide to the batch process.

Thank you Spot, but I honestly need a real simple site. I just want to post a few pictures of my beach and bay on FG as a thumbnail.

That's good, I'm glad you found a way that works for you. No two people use computers the same way.

Thanks Spot. I appreciate your help, but I'm a slow learner when it comes to computer programs.

Here's a few pictures that I figured out how to make into thumbnails from the picnik site.

If you jot a quick email to yourself saying what you did you'll be able to refer back to it in a few months. I do that all the while, I know perfectly well I'm not capable of remembering how I did things.

We're thinking alike.....I had created a "Reminders from FG" document and just posted the directions for creating thumbnails. But, I wanted to isolate my post from the thread. I followed these directions that I had written a bit ago, but it didn't work...

'Reminders from FG'

1.When you want to separate a post from the thread…..hover mouse over # of thread and click on open in a new window…then click on copy shortcut and paste where you wish to place it.

Ahhhh, Thanks Carla. Unfortunately, I somehow deleted my FG albums. Don't know how...had something to do with our new software for downloading pictures.

Now, I'm trying to locate some of my album pictures on my laptop, camera and desktop to build my albums again. I think that I found most of the important ones, and that's good not to have lost them. I've completed a bit of repair work tonight on the albums.

Carla, I don't back up my 'stuff' on my computers. What would you suggest that I buy for daily backup.

Thanks Carla!

They have many small USB harddrive you can attach for backing up everything "Click Free" is small and the program for backing up is simple for users. They come in many sizes and start from $80 up depending on the size you need. Any size over 160gig will more that cover you for years to come backing up.

Thanks Carla, I'll look into this week when I have more time. I'm really ashamed of myself for not backing up my documents, pictures, etc.

simplest solutions would be to either reduce the size of the pics in MS paint or reduce the size of the that your camera takes (i regulary do this for a forum where i post lots of pics as it saves a lot of work in MS paint or a similar prog BUT it means your original pics are not nice and big so you can do other stuff with them)
