Yobs lose out after Judge sides with Vigilante.

Yobs sue electrician who fired catapult to chase them away from home... but judge says 'you brought it on yourselves' | Mail Online

The Judge may have sided with the so called 'Vigilante' but I do not agree.

Although this will hopefully send a warning to the yobs who have no respect for any-thing or any-body.

I would not call this man a 'Vigilante' at all, he was merely protecting himself and his home.

It is worth noting the yobs got through the gate he used to protect his home when they chased his car. What was he supposed to do? Surely this was self defence?

As the female driver ran into the building fearing for her safety, electrician Mr Harwood grabbed a catapult he needs for his business and fired a several 'warning volleys' of small ball bearings at them.

What would they have done if they had caught her? You see a woman being chased by yobs under those circumstances most blokes would have waded in with anything they could find. A jury would probably have found him not guilty.

That Is the part that struck me also.

If the Police had any bottle, they would never have charged him.

That Is one aspect of our yob culture In this country. These youths are quite happy to laugh In the face of the Police and make folks lives a misery until It is turned on them and then suddenly they want the Police to back them. Then because of the ridiculous law, the home-owner gets prosecuted.

They don't have any choice in the matter though do they? If someone makes a complaint you can't have the police being the ones deciding wheher to pursue it or not and is it not the crown prosecution service that make the actual decicion to go press charges to court.( I'm used to a different legal system remember) Why were the yobs not also charged? Not enough witnesses against them perhaps or perhaps the woman didn't make a formal complaint.
