How soon is too soon???
Well over a week ago in many stores around here, they already had "Halloween displays" with pumpkins, goblins, costumes, decorations & the like!!! Now it has spilled over into my neighborhood over the past week or so, as several houses have "extensive Halloween decorations" all around the houses! It's not even the middle of September yet!!! I usually wait till mid October to do Halloween, but that's just me.
So just to be first on the block & or in the stores, is there a "too soon", just to "jump" the season before the next guy?

It's way to soon for people to have decorations up!
In my opinion, thats just ridiculous
I don't put out decorations until the first/second week in October.
The stores always have things out way to early, but also its a method to their madness and people do buy.
I received my Sears Wishbook catalogue which is a fancy Christmas catologue a month ago.............

Just wait until the end of October and you will see Xmas decorations going on sale and even some people putting up lights on their houses.:wah:

We should all just place a welcome mat like the one below on our doorstep and be done with it.

How soon is too soon???
The shops are starting to stock all the christmas food now. Huge tins of sweets, christmas cakes and mince pies, etc. etc. Then the second Christmas Day has passed they bring out all the Easter eggs! :-5
It's definitely way too soon. I used to think October was also way too soon, but this is getting ridiculous.

We all know that this is an annual phenomenum. This is why the last four months of the year seem to fly by. Retailers don't care if we notice or not. If all consumers would get together and only purchase certain seasonal items after a particular date, the retailers would then take notice and, perhaps, change their ways. But, we know..that's not going to happen. We might as well have a sense of humor about it.

Way too soon. My daughter works at an art/craft supply store, she spent Labor Day selling Halloween and Christmas stuff.
How soon is too soon???
The stores have to plan well in advance and decide how much stock they will need and are likely to sell. They can't wait to the last minute and hope it all sells in the weeks before christmas. You don't have to but the stuff after all.

No need to wait until the end of October Lon. I was in a store last Friday evening and they had several racks of Xmas decorations on display with more to be put up.
But it doesn't end there - in mid January this year dozens of stores were jumping the gun with Easter Eggs and hot cross buns. It won't be too long now where Xmas and Easter stuff will be available all year round along with end-of-financial-year stock clearances. :yh_worry
What's next? 24 hour shopping??

My nieces love fall and Halloween and are already decorating. I like the stores having stuff a few months early so I don't have to wait until the last minute to buy and don't have to buy everything at once.

How soon is too soon???
My main Boots had cleared all their shelves this week and I have a horrible suspicion this Is for Christmas.
However, I think It is exciting for children to have to wait for an event and the run up to It so advertising a few weeks early adds to the excitement. That and the stores want to sell as much crap as possible before the day.
