I can just see the assault charges against Police Officers piling up on the Chief Constables desk.
As for forcing yobs to carry out repairs, I can see them queing outside The Human Rights Lawyers Offices.

Asbos were IMO a waste of time and money. The yobs just bragged about them. Bringing back the birch (or the cane for the under 16s), would no doubt help stop much of the yobbish behaviour, but of course this country's (and Europe) super PC brigade would have a lot to say about that !

The ASBO is just a badge of honour for most 'erberts. It doesnt serve any other purpose other than to give louts a points system they can rack up to impress their mates. As for the Mail, well you dont think they are being ever so slightly disengenuous with their reporting of the "clip round the ear" ? Thats not what the Government mean and that rag bloody well knows it. Its aim is to introduce many more Special Police. When do we get to actually see this dirty great wooden spoon the Mail are obviously using to do their stiring ?

Rather than blame the Mail think back to the pre-election guff.
Cameron spoke of hugging Hoodies and In his pre-Election bollocks he was talking about these 'poor' yobs being criminalised with a criminal record that sets them back when trying to get a job etc. He also said that Magistrates would be detered from sending young offenders to prison because all they do Is learn to thieve and assault from old lags while Inside. That Is an Insult to each and every decent person who has been affected by Anti-Social-Behaviour.
If you or I did what some yobs do, we would be In court. Now, these excuses are being made for them and the law changing so that they 'carry out repairs'.
I have heard this first hand from the local Tories so It Is not the Mail Scare-Mongering In this case. By trying to avoid taking a yob to court, It Is a tactic for long term effect. By criminalising them, the chances of them getting jobs are slim so they become a future burden of the benefit system.
So some poor old lady has her pension snatched and then she has the offender come round her house to 'carry out repairs' It Is ludicrous and the Local Tories are blaming the Loony left Lib Dems for this nonsense.
