Mid-Atlantic states are starting the gas lines already, in anticipation of Rita. Panic alerts always start these things, hate to see what the price will be in the morning!

Awwww.. and the oil companies continue to report record profits. Any excuse in a storm so to speak to raise prices.
Come on people start writing those wonderful public servants in D.C. demanding an investigation into price gouging by the petrolelum industry. I don't hear the power monkey Hillary demanding an investigation and she was screaming for one after the Katrina relief fiasco...
Makes one wonder how many of our faithful Senators and Congresspersons are accepting campaign contributinos from them..
and BTW
$38 to fill my lil truck yesterday..
$42 to fill the bigger truck...
all on a 3% raise this year
ain't life grand....

OK people - you all know I am invested in crude oil and natural gas. I am going to tell you the God's honest truth from my situation. The companies that have my mineral rights in CA are pumping AND/OR selling less crude than they ever have in 3 years. They seem to be "holding out" in this crisis. I AM NOT making the money everyone says I should be making. This REALLY makes me WONDER what the "F" our American companies are doing - uhhh - ummm - trying to drive the price up perhaps? If I were if fact making money off the price of gasoline at the pump - I would not be having a difficult time financially. My crude - American crude - an asphaltine grade of 14 would be selling for more money - if they were diligent in pumping it. Now granted - Arabian crude has an asphaltine level of 8 and takes much less refining. OHHH was this a lesson for anyone?
Definition - asphaltine describes the amount of crude oil that is closest to being asphalt - that is what they pave our highways with - asphalt - most American crude - very thick and hard to refine into gasoline.

I paid $2.6something yesterday per gallon. Went to the station because I was on empty...saw the lines and wondered what the heck? It appears that our little Mr. Gov Bush had just been on TV telling people that we would likely suffer a shortage after this hurricane, but don't panic and don't run out and fill up. What the heck...what did he think people would do? He even went as far to suggest that perhaps we should trade in our SUV's if we own one. I am amazed at the stupidity of it all.

Gas stabile this morning, went up 15-25 cents over night, I'm waiting to see what the weekend bring. Gased all the vehicles up last night so I won't have to worry.
