I've been debating with myself about watching Alice in Wonderland. I hate to admit it but when I was a wee lad and confined to the house to get over some childhood illness, I read and was facinated by the book.:o

I watched a documentary about an over zealous prosecutor from Bakersfield CA that managed to round up several families and get them convicted of dozens of counts of child molestation. One gentleman accused of raping his own son was released after 20 yrs in prison when his conviction was over turned. They were all over turned due to deceptive interviews with the children.

The children, adults now were featured in the film and explained in detail how they were coerced into making false claims and that the events never happened.

The name of the film is Witch Hunt.

Last night I struggled half way through "Alice in wonderland". I don't see what all the hype is about. Pretty sucky movie, other than the visual effects. On a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being award winning, I give it a -1. I want my money back.:(

I'll check 'em out. I just got done watching "Crazy on the outside". I thought it would be funnier. It had a little bit of funny and a whole lot of serious. I was not too impressed.

I saw that film and it was one of the best Horror Films that I have ever seen. The part where the Goldfish were devoured by the Siamese Cat was scary.

"The Horseman". A low budget Australian flick. Lots of blood and gore. Not much plot. Mostly takes place at night. No buildings were blown up, no cars wrecked, hence the "low budget" claim.

"Shutter Island" 5 out of 5 stars, best mystery of the year, possibly the decade.

"Book of Eli" 5 out of 5 stars, awesome, best movie of the year by far.

"Edge of Darkness" Stinker. 0 out of 5 stars, Mel made a bad movie, who knew it was possible?

"The Road" So crappy and depressing I wanted to kill myself after seeing it. negative 5 stars out of 5 stars.

Absolutely oustanding. You'd love it, Hoppy. Great action, great ending, great story, not a lot of gratuitous violence, sex, or gore...very uplifting, cool, and action-packed. And that's hard to pull off all at once!;)

It's everything I was hoping "The Road" would be but wasn't.:-2

Watched "The book of Eli" twice, it was that good. Last night I watched "Hot tub time machine". Mostly because of John Cussack. It could have been a good movie and had a few funny scenes but totally fell apart into a confused piece of crap. I expected something like "Back to the future" or "The family man". Not even close.

I bought a cheapo-five-dollar DVD quadruple play at Walmart and GADZOOKS! Three out of the four movies were actually cool! "Beyond the Law" with Charley Sheen, "Quicksand" with Michael Keaton were "B" movies, but darned good ones!

I absolutely loved Space 1999 and UFO. They played a lot of re-runs of those series a few months ago. Took me back a few years. Gerry Anderson produced so much stuff that I loved as a kid

"Shutter Island" is a great movie. I think it's as good on the small screen as it would be on the big screen, although the photography was outstanding. (When you notice how cool each shot of a movie looks, that's usually the cameraman.)

Eclipse

Daughter loved it. I am definitely team Jacob now. After three movies he's the only one of those kids I can see with a glimmer of acting skills. bella seriously needs an enema to loosen up a bit and I guess if Edward is supposed to be playing a dead person that might explain his range of emotion..
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Yeah, teenage angst movies wear thin pretty quickly. My wife and I call that movie, "The Further Adventures of the Girl with No Expression."

Thanks Hoppy,

I looked up a couple of reviews about the movie, and they were not too favorable.

But, I don't always listen to the critics. I read the plot of the story and watched a youtube trailer.

Movie looks great to me, and I've just ordered it from Netflix.
