YouTube - Rooftop Singers -Walk Right In
[intro folk guitar]
Walk right in, sit right down
Daddy, let your mind roll on
Walk right in, sit right down
Daddy, let your mind roll on
Everybody's talkin' 'bout a new way of walkin'
Do you want to lose your mind?
Walk right in, sit right down
Daddy, let your mind roll on
Walk right in, sit right down
Baby, let your hair hang down
Walk right in, sit right down
Baby, let your hair hang down
Everybody's talkin' 'bout a new way of walkin'
Do you want to lose your mind?
Walk right in, sit right down
Baby, let your hair hang down

Hey Kathy!
Got my new washer today from Loews. A General Electric.
Hubby did the installing. I had to rinse the small black load of clothes that was in mid-wash Saturday. Everything is working good.

Hey G#Gill! Hey Odie! Skeeter also sang "The End of the World". Sad and sweet.
This song came out when I was around 16 and was one my favorites. Another sad and sweet song.

“Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.”
Helen Keller quotes (American Author and Educator who was blind and deaf. 1880-1968)
An 1888 photo of Helen Keller with her teacher, Anne Sullivan, has been released by the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston.
The photo, taken on a family vacation on Cape Cod, shows an eight-year-old Keller, with a doll cradled in her lap, holding hands with Sullivan. Experts believe this could be the oldest photo of the two women together, as well as the only one of Keller with one of her beloved dolls.

Hey Odie! Hey G#Gill! My Wednesday was busy at work......but still great! I'm winding down now.
Friends of Distinction - Going In Circles Lyrics
I'm an ever rollin' wheel, without a destination real.
I'm an ever spinning top, whirling around till I drop.
Oh but what am I to do, my mind is in a whirlpool.
Give me a little hope, one small thing to cling to.
You got me going in circles (oh round and round I go)
You got me going in circles
(oh round and round I go, I'm spun out over you)
I'm a faceless clock, with timeless hopes that never stop.
Lord but I feel that way, of my soul. My soul is stay.
Oh but what am I to do, my mind is in a whirlpool.
Give me a little hope, one small thing to cling to.
You got me going in circles (oh round and round I go)
You got me going in circles
(oh round and round I go) I'm spun out over you
(I need you baby) over you (I need you baby) spun out over you.
(I need you baby, I need you baby baby)
I'm spun (I need you baby) I said I'm spun out over you (I need you baby)
Spun out over you (I need you baby, I need you baby, I need you baby)
Here's the actual song;
Dizzy yet?:wah:

Let's get up and move to this..............
YouTube - Edwin Starr - 25 Miles
No........you don't have to walk 25 miles. :wah:
Hey hey uh huh huh huh huh oh
Uh huh huh huh huh huh yeah
It's twenty five miles from home
Girl, my feet are hurting mighty bad
Now I've been walking a three day, two lonely nights
You know that I'm mighty mad
But I got a woman waiting for me
That's gonna make this trip worthwhile
You see she's got the kind of lovin' and a kissing
A make a man go stone wild
So I got to keep on walkin'
I got to walk on, oh ho ho
I, I, I, I'm so tired
But I just can't lose my stride
I got fifteen miles to go now
And I can hear my baby calling my name
It's as if as though I'm standing at her front door
I can hear that doggone plain
Now I'll be so glad to see my baby
And hold her in my arms
Now when I kiss her lips
I turn a back over flip and I'll forget these feet of mine
I got to keep on walkin'
I got to walk on oh ho ho
I, I, I, I, I'm so tired but I just can't lose my stride
Walk on let me tell you ya'll I, I, I, I, I, I'm so tired
But I just can't lose my stride
Come on feet don't fail me now
I got ten more miles to go
I got nine, eight, seven, six, eight, six
I got a five more miles to go
Now over the hill just around the bend
Huh although my feet are tired I can't lose my stride
I got to get to my baby again

I just took a stroll through our yard with my camera. I took these photos of a palm tree we have out there. Not sure what kind it is...but it sure has filled out since Hubby planted it. As you can see, there is a large white trunk/bulb growing in the middle of the leaves.

Willow
And I grew up in patterned tranquillity,
In the cool nursery of the young century.
And the voice of man was not dear to me,
But the voice of the wind I could understand.
But best of all the silver willow.
And obligingly, it lived
With me all my life; it's weeping branches
Fanned my insomnia with dreams.
And strange!--I outlived it.
There the stump stands; with strange voices
Other willows are conversing
Under our, under those skies.
And I am silent...As if a brother had died.

Someone was looking for some sparkle here on FG:
http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/gener ... ost1313471
My Horoscope for the day:
June 16, 2010
Leo (7/23-8/22)
Sometimes all you need is one little spark, and then suddenly, it's as if everything is illuminated. The answer to a torturous problem you've had at work might bear with it unexpected and welcome gifts -- such as a whole new perspective on what's been going on in your relationships and your private life as well. This realization should give you the power to change things around here -- for the better.

I kinda like this quote:
“To the dull mind nature is leaden. To the illumined mind the whole world burns and sparkles with light.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson quotes (American Poet, Lecturer and Essayist, 1803-1882)

And this one:
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.

AFTR's Daily Commute
Do you ever suddenly think of a song you haven't heard in years? You first try to remember the title and exactly how it went. This is the one that appeared in my mind for some reason.

I just click on "send" like I'm going to send it to another website and then the url code appears a long little box. I "select all" and "copy" and paste it here. Hope that helps.
I know we can only poste videos in the "My Favorite Vidoes" section. In every other place, we can only post links to the video.

AFTR's Daily Commute
Just travelling the internet highway and came across this interesting website:
Glamour Girls of the Silver Screen - The Private Lives and Times of Some of the Most Glamorous Actresses and Starlets of the Forties, Fifties and Sixties.
How? I'm watching "This Property is Condemned" on TV. Went to IMDB website to read about the movie. Went from Natalie Wood, to the move "The Star". to Barbara Lawrence, to the website. :wah:

Odie, use link above to test. Okay, click "share". Does a dark blue highlighted line of letters and numbers pop up just below to the left of your "Share" button? Click on that to "Select all" and then "Copy". Now you should be able to paste the link on a post here. Try it again, buddy.

To My Father
It matters not that Time has shed
His thawless snow upon your head,
For he maintains, with wondrous art,
Perpetual summer in your heart.

AFTR's Daily Commute
Today is officially the first day of summer. :-6
GREEN LEAVES OF SUMMER
Theme from the film "The Alamo" (1960)
(Paul Francis Webster / Dimitri Tiomkin)
A time to be reapin', a time to be sowin'.
The green leaves of Summer are callin' me home.
'Twas so good to be young then, in a season of plenty,
When the catfish were jumpin' as high as the sky.
A time just for plantin', a time just for ploughin'.
A time to be courtin' a girl of your own.
'Twas so good to be young then, to be close to the earth,
And to stand by your wife at the moment of birth.
A time to be reapin', a time to be sowin'.
The green leaves of Summer are callin' me home.
'Twas so good to be young then, with the sweet smell of apples,
And the owl in the pine tree a-winkin' his eye.
A time just for plantin', a time just for ploughin'.
A time just for livin', a place for to die.
'Twas so good to be young then, to be close to the earth,
Now the green leaves of Summer are callin' me home.
'Twas so good to be young then, to be close to the earth,
Now the green leaves of Summer are callin' me home.
Here are two links to different versions of the music. Which one do you like better?

did you see Toronto's smallest?
It was on the news a few months ago as it was on sale.
I could never imagine living in that one.
I did like the little one with the man and his bike beside it.:yh_rotfl
I guess its better than not having a home.
