Fancy Dress...

Post by Betty Boop »

I may, or may not go to a Fancy Dress Ball at the end of June. The theme is 'Alice in Wonderland'.

Looking around on the net at costumes I can't help but think that there are going to be a lot of Queens of Hearts there that night

(or as I prefer, given the skimpiness of some of these costumes 'Queens of Tarts' ;):wah:)

I may have found a 'Mad Hatter' costume I really like but it's £60!!

Any other ideas?

How's about going as Alice? You must have a dress that you could adapt and just put a small white 'pinny' over the front, wear white tights and black shoes???? That has to be cheaper !

Do you know anybody who may lend you a long haired blonde wig ?

Or visit your local charity shop?

I'd look odd being Betty Boop at an Alice in Wonderland ball :wah:

A while ago someone decided my hair made me look like Doogle, I'm not sure he'll ever be forgiven for that comment... then a few days ago my hairdresser said the exact same thing! After hitting her and her hitting me back I now have a hair style reminiscent of Suzie Quatro so maybe some black leathers would be in order, I can borrow the daughters guitar and I'm all set (apart from the husky voice) :D

Wish it was a general fancy dress theme, I can imagine there are going to be lots of queens of hearts and alices along with lots of mad hatters and white rabbits :wah:

This will definitely get results with you inside it.

A nine and a half inch skirt is more than adequate coverage so long as you refuse all invitations to limbo.

Is it at Anthony House, the ball?

Round your neck of the woods, it's where various bits of the Johnny Depp movie were filmed. And they hold balls there on occasion.

I tell you what, it's a fine line, I don't want to go out with next to nothing on and looking tarty, maybe I shouldn't care but I'm nearing 40 and don't want to look like someone trying to imitate a teenager :-3

If I've told you once I've told you a hundred times, it's Doogle. D-O-O-G-L-E. For someone two thirds of the way through a degree in English you're startlingly lax in the spelling department.

Excuse me, I got it right and then doubted myself that's all!

And... for your information I am doing a literature degree and my spelling used to be really good, now it's gone out the window as me poor brain is addled with lots of other big words and definitions, we can't all be clever buggers like you in your purple hipsters!! :p:p
